WE HAVE TO FILE LAWSUITS AGAINST THE THE STATE OF TENNESSEE!

I was a Correctional Officer for over 10 years in Illinois. Hell will freeze over before I work for a private prison company. I view that as legalized slavery. Holding someone against their will to make profit is legalized slavery.

All across core civic when I worked there we hated this prison specifically. It was viewed as a complete nightmare and none of us could be paid enough to work there. It was quite literally a prison we all viewed as “abandon all hope ye who enter here”.

I used to work at West Tennessee Detention Facility in Mason, Tn. back in 1996-97. I had an apple thrown at the back of head during count time one evening because I turned the tv off during count time when I was cross counting my partners dorm. I cussed out the whole dorm. I didn't leave the dorm to go back to my own dorm. I told my partner that I wasn't leaving- he could take my dorm. The tv stayed off, and we searched everybodys lockers. Anything that could be thrown, we took. 😂 What's up North Carolina J dorm? Hope y'all are doing well, and none of your families are in the disaster areas.

By increasing wages?? "Correctional Officer - Travel Duty This position has a pay rate of $14.88 to $20.09 (Pay based on experience)" What did they increase them from, federal minimum wage? You want people to be a correction officer, pay them jack shit, and want them to not be corrupt at the same time? Or actually give a shit? What a joke

One of their jail guards tried to shove me off my bicycle while off duty as I was biking down the road. Him and his belligerent father tried to claim they “owned the whole road”. Same dude also purposely went into the left lane and tried to brush past me in his car while I was biking down the same road minding my own business a few weeks before. I think his last name is Martinez and works at the core civic in lecanto fl. Call the hernando county sheriffs office and they did nothing but log an incident report.

My brother is going through a lot there he have been jumped on and have put for to be transferred to another facility they disregard that also me and my sister have email them also call. My sister finally talk with someone in the warden they got real smart with her told her that why should he be moved off the compound that he has been locked up before so coming in there you just have to defend yourself. Therefore our brother refuse to go on compound because he fear of his life so they put him in segregation. By they put him in segregation he couldn’t get any funds from families on his book for food he just now able to get something on his book now and they took certain things off his list that he couldn’t get and certain amount of quantity. It’s sad we feel bad that our brother has to go through that.

I went to a TN prison in 2014 Anne got in a fight fight with a vice Lord, that almost completely hyper extended my arm to the point where the bone was gonna come out of my arm. It was black and blue from my wrist. All the way up to my shoulder. I told him I fell off my bunk, and it took a few days to even see medical, and all they gave me was ibuprofen.

These prisoners are being tortured and left to die when they have a medical issue,there is no medical emergency in jail, they benefit from more prisoners when paid back by the state and make a lot of money with commissary items.

I need to comment on this because, most people are under the impression that all Prisons are these horrible places, and people are always dying, and no one cares, and there are rats and roaches and no running water, and feces filled toilets, holes in the walls, etc. etc. I am not sure where these type of places exist, but I can assure you it's not in the facilities of Core Civic. I have been an employee for 5 yrs, and I have gone to multiple facilities, and they really do run some of the cleanest prisons I've ever seen. I am just a regular employee, not anyone with the Admin or higher up authority. I am African American, and while it is true we face retention challenges, all prisons do. Look at the statistics with state ran prisons, sometime it's far worst than private...and, if there were no issues to be fixed with the DOC/BOPP Private prisons could not survive. So, while there are a lot of people who don't like Private Prisons because there are profits involved, you need think about the America we live in, profits and investments is part of A great America. Investing in bettering the Public Good is one of our main priorities. Our families live in the public everyday, how coudl we in good conscious release people who have been treated poorly and wrongly into society. Don't get me wrong, Prison is not a vacation, There are no perfect places anywhere in the world, but we strive daily to respect our client, tend to their needs, follow federal and state guidelines and uplift their spirits and let me tell you...we hit that mark every single day. Before I came to Core Civic I never knew the places where prisoners live could be so nice, I was clueless just like a lot of you. There are flats-screens, microwaves, Gaming systems, tables, media music devices, full gyms, with great equipment, music rooms with instruments, programming, college courses etc. hell grammar schools in some areas don't even have some of the things that we offer in our facilities....... IJS
@ronda14448 ай бұрын
Core Civic doesn't give a shit about inmates. They are for profit only. The complaints about Core Civic are not just from inmates, it's current and previous employees. A civil rights attorney is currently receiving info from inmates and employees who are in these prisons. They need shut down! Also, none of the things you stated are offered at Core Civic. A perfect example is Lake Erie Correctional in Conneaut Ohio. Programs are not offered. They shut them down to use the space for more bunks. More bunks equals more money.
