Core decompression hip done for stage 2 AVN .. it’s mainly done for pain relief and delay progress of disease.., how many years differs patient to patient according to weight height age & activity bone quality , post procedure recovery. So It varies between 2 yrs to 10yrs post op THR requirement.

Surgical duration it could be around 40mins to an hour.. hospital stay if pain Tolerable 24 to 48hr stay

@@ako409 AVN treated with Stem cell / bone graft along with core decompression always withholds the progress and greatly improves in regard of pain relief. Whatever the stage of AVN will stop there and regeneration but complete reversal Is not to be expected. (If the cause of AVN is - like Steroid induced re-exposure to steroids will again cause progress in the disease even after all treatment explained above)

Thanks for going through full Video.. it shows ur interest.. ideally we shouldn’t breach head but in practical situation guid wire get stuck in cannulated drill bit .. Either you remove whole thing and do it again ..👍 or it’s a practical tip only guide wire can be allowed safely cross till first table of acetabulum to have our drill reaching subchondral region as happened in this case - all at surgeons risk and skills. And importantly As guide wire has threaded tip always withdraw in Reverse direction in order to prevent proceeding further in and also some times break. Hope I have answered you ..
