[Core keeper] Objectively the best build for mage and warlock playstyle in 1.0 release

Interesting build but not what i was expecting at least for mage. I was leaning more towards Arcane Staff being the weapon of choice for its Crit% and attack speed while using Polished Golden Spike Rings, Glass Bead Necklace and Crystal Meteor Chunk. Higher atk speed means more chance of activating the range talent of 100% crit chance. Food wise there should be a Range ATK speed buff on top of those used in the video. Talents in the magic skilltree should have 5/5 "The best offence" while summoner should have everything boosting magic with just one minion summoned.

I later changed the necklace to polished gold necklace for more damage and having the bat give it me +75 shield which in turn gives more magic damage. Crystal meteor chunk gives a bit more damage but for utility I still prefer rift lens(for safety). Having more range attack speed can be good but is unnecessary That being said I did tried pure thorn crit build and compare to this I’d say they’re almost at the equivalent

When you should the build could you mouse over each item and then go to your skill trees in one sitting? in 10 seconds from 3:55 to 4:04 you give everything a half second and don't show the warlockskill tree, only the pet tree. If you took 25 seconds, showed each item for 1 second then each tree it would be better quality. You could add timestamps in your description to take people straight to the build time and they will want to see that 25 seconds worth. like 1:26 - age build 3:55 - warlock build

​@@papainkccveteran4886yeah you absolutely need to showcase your gear better. Also, consider typing out what you want/need to say on signs in advance! That way, you can read one, leave it on screen for a good 5 or 6 seconds, and then move to the next one and repeat, instead of having to type everything you want to say in the small chat box

I think 'objectively' is a huge stretch. The minion stacking hybrid build that stacks magic barrier and gains a ton of ranged attack speed and magic damage from every minion, using arcane staff, is already pulling phase timings like these on my run, with early game food. If by the time I finish this playthrough I still don't see a video on it I'll make one, but you should check it out too.

@@papainkccveteran4886 Yeah the game kind of completely breaks if you even slightly get into proper buildcraft, so I didn't even deem it necessary to follow up. Final boss getting deleted in 3 seconds with a build that took 0 thought is kinda disappointing, and that's even before food. Hope they release a harder difficulty someday.

Amazing video, these have helped with making builds a ton, was wondering if you knew about any food recipes for physical range buffs? Seems they changed the pink coralotl’s buffs from ranged damage to mana buffs so I was wondering if you knew of a replacement

Currently the best possible food buff for physical range damage goes to pewpaya and probably astral jelly for fishing bonus, you can also try the spike backs as well if you’re going thorn set But let’s just say we already have new physical ranged build in store and will be in the making after a few videos

In my experience, mana regen is a negligibly effective skill in an arcane staff build, having only a fractional effect by endgame, and made even worse due to the skill that regenerates your mana on a crit being much more viable. Because of this, you could replace your rings with either the glass bead ring or the nomad's ring to do more damage.

The fact that 2 Morpha’s ring gives me consistent 40-50k cries after I tried it is interesting It is already overkill with buffs and now a random 194k crit just came out of nowhere to skip immunity phase entirely

Dont forget to mention you Maxed hp wich is not possible anymore in 1.0 so you can be careless and not get 1 shot

Already had it in the description,please read And in reality of this fight, I was laser focused to the point the only thing that really hit me was the boss’s percentage hp damage and like the other people, we all can drink a healing potion(or me swapping into thorn set with trinity heart using hotkeys

LMAO, my build on mage is EXACTLY THE SAME as yours. It is really OP, they should nerf it. It was just a slaughterhouse, don't know who is complaining about mage being weak. All the titans, end boss, end-game boss died with shame. Especially with the food buff.

Bats are considered better than the other two due to the attack range coverage Dps wise the tome of the deep with melee summoner can ditch out the most damage

The skeleton's AI is bugged they don't actively attack making them useless

Well, for comparison at the moment: - The bats are the only minions that can attack from far range - The jellyfish runs around in a small circle around the player, range is low to medium-low - Skeletons only attack at melee range for some reason So at the moment, bats wins even if they're the lowest level minion

I’d say it can still be plenty strong without buffs It’s just that foods are available and I tried to stretch test it(cooking is available for everyone and are really strong even with just rare tier) I also did summon build without buffs as well but yeaaaa that one was a meme video with a little bit of player skills involved

There’s no “objectively” the best class since you can be super strong in every single class including summoner But in the current full release my favorites are mage and summon

The bird I rolled with 3 2% chances to strike for 3x damage, my two gold sapphire rings, my torc necklace, and my mercenary armor, when tornados and the danger triangle spawn can hit for 40,000 damage in a single hit, the tornados linger and deal that damage constantly. I killed core commander on hard in 3 shots from my maxed out flintlock musket. *Not counting core balls, but both phases.*

i play mage and summon bats, How's you pet bird have 26.5% damage? i dont see anything that boost it in its talent page. Your bird is lv 10 max, mine is lv5 and its still 6.5% damage. Im confused. Please explain. New to the game and im have fun

It was the smell of food skill that gives nearby allies +20% damage I didn’t notice until you mentioned it

@@agntprometheus All food recipes are achievable through normal means except pre-nerfed max hp food which I already stopped using(recipes are in the cooking video somewhere) And the whole build has been shown multiple time with multiple improvements after this one including pets and skills usage

Bird talents have no effect on summons so I doubt you’d try to combo with the two

It does provide some measly survivalbility through dodge chance but in practice you would either dodge using the rift lens or just walk off the attack, or even block some big hit using huge magic barrier you get from this set TLDR: Decent set, lame execution, impractical
