Why? Hyperthreading plays no role in gaming. It was invented to deal with the Windows System in the background without losing fps. However, today Intel has like 50 cores on their CPUs so they have plenty resources to handle the system in the background using E-cores, rather than hungry P-cores. A P-core that can focus on games alone runs much more efficiently aka. cooler. You can clearly see how much cooler the Intel is. The AMD has to constantly handle the system on its power cores and go into multitask overdrive. HT made sense when we only had 4 or less cores. It made sense when we didn't know if games will ever use more than 4-6 cores. Today it doesn't make sense anymore unless you stick to the old 6-8 cores architecture like AMD.

It is clear that both processors are very competent, with the AMD processor being slightly more powerful than the Intel processor, however the AMD processor consumes more and runs a little hotter. Whichever one you buy is fine, they are good products, what would determine the purchase decision would be the price. An Intel 7 Core Ultra 265K for $375 seems expensive to me, and that doesn't take into account the price of the mobos. Intel has it tough and the prices complicate the situation even more.

But not by much, and usually the 9700X was showing better performance too (not by much either). They seem to be very similar, which is not very good for Intel, because the 9700X wasn't really well received. AMD at least has the 3D series, so Ryzen 9000 is not a total flop for them. Intel on the other hand...

You can see whatever CPU makes the GPU perform better the GPU is also hotter. So all these tests only make sense if you have a GPU capable enough. If you don't you will see no difference in fps. Just one CPU will be hotter than the other. So even if you would save a couple watt on the CPU, you'd lose it on the cooling again. And undervolting works on both CPUs.

This test is falsified, Intel 265K works at 5500GHZ, how do you explain Intel's lower consumption and ridiculous temperature? That's 5 years support, multiple CPU Generation upgrades, in 1 Motherboard. Intel couldn't even do that in the last 20 years. Looking at AM5 now, you can use 7800x3D , 9800x3D , and the future 10800x3D without ever changing Motherboard.

For your info: Intel Core Ultra is a complete new architecture which means new socket and that cpu can handle for years. It's not you need to upgrade after 4 years because it isn't. My old intel cpu I7 5820K handles everything and is more than 9 years old, can still gaming in 4K but now i have to upgrade. If you use longer, you save more money. AMD is good for gaming in 1080p/1440p. In 4K, it doesn't matter. It's true what you said but a small excuse.

Comparing CPUs in 4K is more stupid cuz at 4K games are more GPU bounded therefore even a 9800X3D being compared to not the second or third but even the tenth best gaming CPU will be draw instead of performing 10x better

@@EvaEvaCoco 80$ cheaper 8c ryzen performs the same as 20c expencive intel. Ryzen is cheaper and better by all means. Not even talking about motherboard pricing for intel yet.
