I duplicated your sample....except I used the interactive fill tool but with the colors opposite. To get rid of the line in the center of the text, I reduced my nudge to 0.001" and the just nudged the lower text up once. Then moved the lower text to the front of the page. That appears to have gotten rid of the line.
