I remember about a month after Lost Boys came out in 1987 we took a trip to Magic Mountain in Valencia CA. It was night and we were climbing the steps to the top of the central mountain to cut across the park. Sure enough coming down the steps was Corey Feldman with about eight tag along teens following. They were all dressed like teens in Hollywood movies, not how actual teens dressed at the time. Corey was actually wearing a red Michael Jackson zipper jacket and a head bandana like his character in Lost Boys. We looked at him, he looked at us as we all passed. And that's the end of the story.

Sadly, as much as the girls could've just mimicked in front of a prerecorded track, they are definitely really playing. The guitarist misses the 3rd chord in the progression almost every time, the keyboardist keeps hitting bum notes and the "DJ" misses the cue for a beat fill after the first chorus and almost crashes the whole thing. You can see Corey kinda throw her a panicked glance.

They can't, but they definitely are. Corey must've trained 'em to play their parts & probably just rehearses the shit outta them, one song at a time. Obviously, they weren't musicians before this but you can train someone to form a power chord and practice moving it to the 4 positons in this song. He even made sure the chorus revolved around whole notes, so they could sing backup at the same time.

They became friends back in the 80s & Feldman was highly influenced by MJ. Nobody 'trained' MJ. Of course, he did work with choreographers & other dancers but nobody taught MJ how to dance lol. By definition, choreographers create dance routines & moves. They dont 'teach' ppl how to dance unless that person just happens to also be a dance teacher. MJ was a natural born dancer who, like Prince, was influenced by legends like James Brown. I remember hearing that he was also a big fan of Fred Astair. There is video footage on yt of him groovin' back when he was a child fronting the Jackson 5. Lol, ppl r legit trying to rewite MJ's life, postmortem. The other day, somebody actually tried to claim that he picked up dance moves from David Bowie. This is wild. Dang, Stevie Wonder can see that he was a natural born, talented dancer & that he truly loved to dance. 😁
