Corey Glick's "Souvenir" Part

The last clip was a very emotional experience for me. Corey said in an interview when he first got onto foundation that he had convinced his parents to sink all of the money that they had saved up over the years in order for him to go to college into his attempt to make it in skateboarding, allowing him to move out to california and start to get fully recognized and attempt to pursue it as a career. Now, was that the correct choice financially? Clearly not. However, the stark juxtaposition of the fake ass smile of the girl behind him in the "college bound!" banner, and the genuine expression of joy and relief that he lets out after such an impossible trick, shows you all you need to know about whether or not he made the right choice. He chose to pursue what he loves, and we're all very fortunate to consume the results of that pursuit.

i agree! yes skateboarding is, as of rn, at its most competitive time ever. not talking about skateboarding in general but friends have put me down for things i want to pursue.. saying, "get a real job", "im just looking out for you", etc. you are right, financially wrong move but fuck do wat you dream of doing because thats wat life is all about baby. let all the suckers out there keep giving up their dreams to do what they were told to in highschool by their parents. especially cause corey is insanely fucking good and has a good attitude. someone thats die hard for skateboarding, unlike a bunch of ppl getting paid to do it cause its a "trend" now. any who, yeah i hope this help foundation out. i was never a huge fan of them, but always had a soft spot for me because of how core of a skate brand they were. a lot of riders kinda die out on foundation and never REALLY get recognized, just like a bunch of 100% skate brands that are being forgotten. to that guy who has the top comment. ^ put corey on vans lol.

I wanted to be pro, but never took myself seriouksy. Now that I’ve quit skating, I realize I just delayed my life by a few years. Trying to figure out a career after that is a tough thing to navigate. Good luck in all you do. Nothing wrong with pursuing a back up plan, be it a trade or a degree with lucrative careeer options.
