I'm not seeing Kyle joining the team but I do remember him mentioning a Payback that's coming. A 2 time championship driver with his level of wins undoubtedly has some juice in the Nascar teams conversations. The right word or two could make a big difference especially after deliberately dumping that same driver and laughing about it over the team radio.

I think had he been able to run Xfinity and build his career there before jumping to Cup with less than top tier rides things would have been different. Now the interesting thing is to see how he rebounds or if he really wants to. I've heard him discuss he has invested in different areas and may change his focus. Being a racer though with a lot of years still ahead of him, I think he'll make his way back in and possibly to a better situation eventually. Will be interesting to follow!

Great take on the Lajoie situation. It was like watching a bunch of hungry dogs fight over and rip apart a juicy steak. Wasn't that long ago, Jr was saying he thought Lajoie would score a win soon, as he kept getting towards the front for the first time in his career. Before Spire, the guy worked a FT job, wrenched on his own cars during the week, then drove all weekend.

I have said in a couple episodes earlier this year I would not be surprised to see Lajoie get a win. Especially at somewhere like Atlanta or Daytona. So I get where Jr is coming from. The Lajoie family have always been hard working racers. My brother worked with Randy when he got in the 20 car for Moroso. Randy would be working on the car all week himself to go race. The trait definitely carried over to Randy's boys and I respect that. Appreciate the comment!

I honestly don't think Rodney signed a deal with Spire to Crew Chief LaJoie OR a Hocevar. I remember the wording, "Rodney Childers would be the crew chief of the number 7 car". It would be too difficult to imagine that is what he wants to do for the rest of his career. That would be a LOT of work and years of waiting for a win and even a lot more for a championship contender. It seems to make more sense to be paired with a more accomplished driver that can start off contending for a championship.

I think it would be hilarious if 23XI signs Kyle. Not likely but the rumor is Kyle's gonna retire in a few years to race trucks with Brexton. Kyle had success with Toyota and him and Denny get along. I have no doubt Jordan and Denny would be on board. Just saying.

I would like to see what KB could do with 23Xl. But with what you just mentioned I could see all the more reason for KB to go to Spire where he and Brexton could race together out of that stable in what was his original team. I personally feel a lot of KB's decision making the last couple years has been as much for Brexton as himself. The kid is going to have a long career in NASCAR with huge success in my opinion. And KB could be laying down the building blocks that I'm sure Spire would love to have to acquire Brexton throughout Trucks, Xfinity and into Cup. Appreciate the comment!

Only time will tell. It's a little late in the season for anything positive in Cup but the way this year has gone who knows lol. If Corey has some backing that goes with him I could see a possibility at Rick Ware Racing in the 15 full-time.

I think he has talent but should have built a career competing for wins in Xfinity before taking rides in Cup that were not at top tier level. I guess it was all about the opportunities at the time much like Jeffrey Earnhardt and many others. It will be interesting to see where he lands in the future and what outcomes he makes of it!

While I'll agree Randy's Cup career was not the best, he was a solid Busch driver. My brother worked with Randy in the early days on the 20 car and on most occasions Randy was working on the car as much as anyone during the week. If anything Randy's contribution to safety has saved many lives and injuries. So in the end it really would have been a shame for him to not be involved in racing. With that said, I appreciate everyone's opinion and appreciate your comment.

As you said Randy was a great Busch driver , not to mention his earlier Modified career , the Lajoie family is /was a very talented group of hard nose racers , plus the safety business as well .

@@Blackswan19874 Absolutely, and you have to add Don Lajoie in there as well. True legend. Quick story of how dedicated Randy was. Back in I believe 94, my wife worked for Parks Chevrolet in Charlotte, and she calls me. Randy was there in if I remember right the Dick Moroso car to do a show car display and sign autographs. It was drizzling rain, and he was there by himself. Drove the truck and trailer there himself. I was just a few miles away, so I drove over and helped him push the car in since the salesman didn't want to do anything but look at the car. He did what it took to race, and I always respected that.

I can agree in some aspects but I believe with Gainbridge and possible other ventures they are solidly backed. If you think about it when Gainbridge came in Lajoie and Ty Dillon were the drivers. Now each is gone so I feel there are probably multiple layers to yesterday's announcement that go back to financial investments in the team. Thanks for commenting!

Kyle Bush needs to retire. He's still a good driver don't get me wrong. But he's not getting good opportunities anymore. He's driving for mid pack teams. Im sure he's made enough money. Maybe he should drive for his team in the truck series? His son will probably be racing pretty soon. So you gotta get out when the time is right.

That's what made his wins last year so neat. They proved his combination with RCR could work. Unfortunately it started trailing away. I still think they can get it done with the 8 car, but not sure he will stick around to see. Spire bought his truck team so it makes sense for him to go to Spire and secure a path for Brexton through the trucks, Xfinity and into Cup with them. It's going to be interesting to see what does happen!

Don't you love when the fans. Have. A driver locked in to drive the #7 Car. It took a whole five minutes. After it announced that kyle Busch was the.number .1 prospect.. They don't realize what the owners and teams have to do to get a new driver. That's why I don't listen to what they have to say. Just have to wait and see what happens .these fans don't want to wait they want results. Instantly..like that second .these are the fans that.don't know nothing about how life and business works. . anyways. I don't see kyle going to spire anytime soon . hocevar.would make a.really great driver in the #7 car. But yet they have McDowell coming in 2025 too. He might go into the 7 car. .anyways. Appreciate the comment. Yes, there are so many pieces to making things like this happen on the business / money side of things that I agree, many don't consider. I've actually considered doing an episode on what buyouts take. In my professional career in entertainment I along with my agents work and negotiate contracts on each production and there is so much to each that go down to tiny details with some including buyout clauses. It's complicated but necessary for legal implications.
