Jamaicans are quick to tell someone to be themselves when they out here trying to be American and go to the USA and get so Americanized and forget who they are...please
@thelegendhimself.4 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about? What you call "Americanized" speaking like an American? Because I mean duh obviously you would have to speak proper English their because most of them won't understand patios I mean you don't have to but if you want people to understand you that's the logical thing to do but Americans don't have to talk in patois for us to understand them because we can understand English just fine not bashing him for the way how him speaking or anything but just saying they have a point about telling him to be him self! Because it would be easier to understand him when he's speaking in straight English and not patios because he has a very heavy American accent so it makes it harder to understand him when he speaks in patios as apposed to plain English!

I am Bajan. When i am in Barbados for more than a week , I get a slight accent. When i am in America , I have a NewYork accent after a week. People sometimes do this. I know a lot of Jamaicans who went to elocution classes to speak British English . People change accents based on environment. As far as what he is saying, you cant take everything he say as the truth but i would certainly think a lot of what he is saying is true .

+music like I said you are not making a point. Your goal seems to be to curse me out because you some how disagree or because you are a Vybez fan boy who can not express a point properly. So I will slow it down for you. I am saying that when Jamaicans come to America , and I know many, the can not speak the same way and be understood. So they adjust thier speaking pattern out of necessity. English speaker do this with out even thinking about it all over the world. I am sure you do not speak to a Canadian the same way you would speak with a Bajan because you want to be understood. This guy does take things a little to far but the fact is that living in Jamaica for years will affect the way you speak. That was my only point. It does sound forced coming from him but he does live in the country.
@alansjf338 жыл бұрын

THE SAME WAY HOW JAMAICAN ARTIST TRY TO SPEAK AMERICAN WHEN THEY COME HERE THE SAME WAY AMERCAN TRY TO SPEAK LIKE JAMAICAN.
@thelegendhimself.4 жыл бұрын
Completely different! When Jamaicans go to the states and speak like they do it's because if them speak in patois chances are they not gonna understand them! Americans don't need fi speak in patois we understand them because we understand English very well if anything when Americans try fi speak patois and fail that's when they get hard to understand because their accent don't mesh well with the language so if you have a really strong accent it's gonna be hard

@alexyoung73714 жыл бұрын
@Johnny V Incorrect. Once again Jamaican is not an ethnicity but a nationality. You need to look up the meaning of the word. So is American, Bajan, Cuba etc an ethnicity? lol No; ethnicity defines your ethnic origin. Therefore, if your main ancestors were taken from Nigeria then you would have to figure out which ethnic tribe/s you’re from (Fula,Igbo,Yoruba etc). That’s what defines ethnicity.
