What I find difficult is, that many Israelis make the claim that they have the right to return to land, they occupied some thousands of years ago from the Kananites, and then question the right of the Palestinians to return who actually have been living there for by far longer than Judaea even exited. At least the likes of the greeks, germans, native americans etc acknowledge their 'catastrophies' which happened generations ago are permanent and adjust to a new reality for them and their children moving forward At least a lot of the israelis being interviewed are fairly rational and want a workable solution based on the current reality. ARABS IN ISRAEL. Palestinians are comprised of several ethnicities made up as follows: Arabs who are the majority: Kurdish, Syriac/Assyrian, Armenian and Afro-Arab. Modern Palestinians are descended from many different Arab peoples from the Levant and Arab/Muslim states who fled and migrated as refugees to the geographical region named Palaestina Syria in 135AD by a ROMAN, Hadrian. The closest Arabs aka 1964 Palestinians ever came to Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria was through the ILLEGAL JORDANIAN occupation in 1948 to 1967. Palestinian claim to an ancient civilization has been refuted by simple and credible facts; starting from their so-claimed Palestinian ethnic foods, national dress and lack of any archeology which is the blueprint proving ancient civilizations - simply because there is NO ANCIENT PALESTINIAN PROOF OF ANCIENT ROOTS. Palestinians state that their ethnic foods are: Kubbeh, Mujaddara, Tahini , Baba ghanoush and a list of other ethnic Palestinian foods; but…. KUBBEH originates from Jordan, Cyprus, Lebanon, Armenia and other ARAB nationalities. MUJADDARA: originated in Iraq. TAHINI- originates from Persia BABA GHANOUSH: place of origin is LEBANON. PITA - is a flatbread eaten in the Middle East and dates back to Natufian (now Jordan) times. Summary: As can be clearly checked, ethnic culinary foods of 1964 Palestinians have been claimed as their cultural foods, but as one can clearly see, were borrowed from ARABS. LANGUAGE: Palestinians speak ARABIC (with an accent) NATIONAL DRESS: Palestinian men wear/wore a “thobe” which originated in Syria, Iraq, Jordan and the Arabian Peninsula. No one has a problem with Arabs calling themselves Palestinians, but there is a problem when Arabs aka 1964 Palestinians “adopt” cuisine, dress, prayer books, shrines and sacred places and claim them as part of their own ancient traditions, even though recorded history documents prove otherwise…… 2,000 years old and showing ancient HEBREW script only one of thousands of ancient artifacts proving JEWISH HISTORY AND ORIGINS IN THIS LAND.

They're the ones who should apologize to Israelis for 1948! On 1947 the UN realised his partition plan of British Mandatory Palestine into two States to two people - Jewish and Arab. The Borders were divided that in the Jewish state most were Jews and in the Arab state most were Arabs. And that The plan dictated that the Jewish and Arab minorities would become full-fledged citizens of the states in which they lived. The Jewish leadership accepted the plane while the Arabs rejected it and wanted all this area to be their. The Arabs in Palestine with their other Arabs allied Arab countries of Egypt, Syria, Jordan ,Iraq and Lebanon opened and waged a war against the Jews and were sure they would defeat the new jewish state. Azzam Pasha, the General Secretary of the Arab League saying: It will be a war of elimination and it will be a dangerous massacre which history will record similarly to the Mongol massacre or the wars of the Crusades.” Jamal Husseini, a member of the Arab leadership said “The blood will flow like rivers in the Middle East.” Prime Minister of Iraq, Nuri al-Said, made it clear that if a Jewish state was established, “We will smash the country with our guns and obliterate every place the Jews seek shelter in.” He then went a step further and declared that “severe measures should be taken against all Jews in Arab countries." But unlike their exeption Israel won and expended their border . The Arab aggressors lost and paid the price . In every war especially if the aggressor nation lost the winners expended their land like Poland in 1945 , France in 1918 , Belgium in 1918 , North Vietnam in 1975 ect ... and yes , 700,000 Arabs fled during the war as they thought the new state of Israel would be defeated quickly and also for avoiding the fighting and yes some of them were expelled, during the fighting as in every other war that was during that period and before . But after the war and until 1969 the Arabs expelled 850,000 Jews from their countries. And that is ethnic cleaning!!!!

The Palestinians conduct their business in Israeli currency and use Israeli products. Maybe some sort of accommodation can eventually be reached. I really think that both people are exhausted from this endless conflict. I think that Israel's new relationships with the Arab world is a good thing. Countries like Egypt, The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco could serve as a bridge for the two sides to reach out to each other, slowly but surely. The elderly Palestinian gentleman seems sincere. Millions of Palestinians would not be able to flood Israel proper as a practical matter, but several thousand could probably return without it tipping over the apple cart, so to speak. The only real loser in this would be Iran, which has a vested interest in keeping the conflict going.

@@avasmith1846 1) irrelevant equivalency because nothing of what i initially wrote refers to the civil rights that the german citizen or the people living in germany have or don't have - it refers to the accountability of today's generation for events that preceded them. 2) so are you suggesting that the 22 story building that i live in, needs to be taken down completely and have all it's residents sent to other countries, only because a certain palestinian who lives (to say) in a refugee camp in jordan had a grandfather who owned a house in the exact same spot where my home stands today? otherwise, for instance, are you suggesting that can i demand the house that my grandfather owned in vienna until 1938 or take it down entirely, despite the woman living there with 2 children? 3) i'll give you that, i don't see myself as an advocate for israeli settlements and towns in judea and samaria (no offense to fellow israelis and supporters of israel), mainly because it puts our citizens, military and money at risk until a solution is being implemented. that aside, i want to point out that i find none of it as justification for a palestinian being sentenced to death penalty (by the palestinian authority) for the mere action of selling land and/or property to a jew. 4) there are israelis who actually do not get drafted into the mandatory military service for a variety of reasons (mostly for medical and mental reasons). and that goes back the previous points i've made - generalizing israelis in a certain context or holding *some* of them for actions and events that preceded them is just as wrong as saying and doing the same for palestinians or any other country. in another video in this channel, i have argued that past events cannot be a base for the arguments and solutions of the present, merely because they can be traded and recycled back and forth for days and weeks without really leading anywhere. whether we like it or not, whether was right or wrong, the past cannot be reverted - what's done is done. it all comes down to the decision of either stepping in order to find a solution or staying in a pointless vortex of blame and judgement.

What i do not understand with Palestinians, that they proclaim their identity as rightfully theirs. I mean... "Palestine" was given by the romans for this region and they just adapted an exonym that is not even derived from their language / culture. This is the same with "Prussia" e.g. .
@edwinlucianofrias16433 жыл бұрын
Ancient Greek historians and geographers had been calling the region “Palestine” for hundreds of years before the Romans came into the picture. It’s part of the reason the Arabs, Ottomans and British all called the region “Palestine” in one form or another. As a Dominican, I find it quite normal to call yourself something that foreigners who colonized you named you. “Santo Domingo” is a name that the Spanish colonizers came up with. The island was called “Haiti” or “Quisqueya” by the natives (depending on who you ask but please don’t) but I don’t reject the label “Dominican” just because my colonizers decided upon it 500 years ago. We did, actually. It wasn’t until the second time we kicked the Spanish out (in 1865) that we started calling ourselves “Dominican.” We just called ourselves Spaniards before that! 😆
@edwinlucianofrias16433 жыл бұрын
By the way, I would venture to say that most Palestinians identify as “Arab” which is a culture that originated somewhere else and belong to one of two religious traditions that also came from outside: in one case the Arabian peninsula and in the other from Jews. A Palestinian can feel Arab and Greek Orthodox without doubts that any of these identities are rightful theirs. I feel Roman Catholic and Hispanic but my connections to Rome and Spain don’t have that much to do with it. Mostly because I really don’t have any.
