Corfu Town is the capital of Corfu (Kerkyra). It is one of the largest and most populated towns of the Ionian Islands and serves as the principal port of the island. Built on a peninsula, the town displays unique architecture strongly influenced by different dominions, such as the Sicilian, Venetian, French, and English. Corfu Town boasts impressive buildings, elegant mansions, beautiful palaces, French-style flowered squares, and historic fortresses.

corfiot here, thank you for making this video! There are many more things to do of course but this was a good summary of sightseeing. It really is as beautiful as it looks, oftentimes I stop and take in my surroundings and feel grateful to live in this town. Sidenote, in liston specifically don't go eating, you will get mediocre food for too high a price. Ask a random local and they will definitely give you great alternatives nearby, or just try to listen to the people who are sitting /eating :if they are speaking greek, sit right away. Liston is the main café spot though, and I was surprised you missed the story behind it: under the venetian rule, there was a list (hence liston) of the noble families and only if your name was there were you allowed to walk this road. Last but not least, the best time to visit is Easter, as we have notorious festivities and usually good weather (if it is later than 15-20 April it's definitely beach time). Portokalia out ;)

What date would you recommend in September/ October to visit Corfu Town? One of us is not very mobile (has a bad leg) but we saw Corfu on a TV show and as we live in Malta, plan on visiting for a fortnight later this year and thought staying in the old town would be best.

I don’t know if this museum was active at the time this video was made, but the #1 thing I enjoyed in Corfu was the museum of archaeology. It’s the main attraction imo other than the beautiful city itself.

I stopped at Corfu for a day and my tour guide did not take me to any of these places! After watching this I feel like I didn't see Corfu at all! All I saw was the view from the mountain and a beach.
