Hi Nick, that's another one saved, l like the trailer hitch idea, thay turned out very smart great paint work. We here on the mainland are still getting some things from ebay but understandably its taking longer , So going through all my castings and seeing what I can build . Take my friend . Enjoy the fine weather 😎😎👍
@crapaudnicksdiecastrenovat17394 жыл бұрын
Hi Martin and thank you,😊 I had some window units arrive today from on eBay, so stuff is still coming, like you say taking a lot longer, missed out on a pony for this set yesterday as well, I was too slow lol, ah well I keep looking! I think the paint supplies will be the biggest problem for me as generally sellers won’t send paint to Jersey! Still got a few models left to do though but may have to do more custom paint jobs😉 Happy restoring, stay safe and all the best😊👍

Thank you, the window unit I bought on eBay, I bought a few of them a couple of years ago and still had this one spare, but I can’t remember which seller it came from!

I've started watching your earlier videos Nick, this one is an excellent restoration, I really enjoyed it. Can I just ask you a couple of questions because I need to know what I need before attempting to start restoring models myself. Is that tool you use for inserting the rivets a carpenters bradawl? What size rivets do you use, and where's the best place to buy them? (Bearing in mind I want to attempt to renovate Corgi and Dinky tractors) Many thanks for your help. Best Regards. Peter.
@crapaudnicksdiecastrenovat17394 жыл бұрын
Thank you Peter, yes I think it’s a bradawl, it was in a screw driver set I bought about 25 years ago from B&Q , never used it till I started doing the models, the rivets I buy on eBay, they are mostly 2.5 mm but I also have some 2mm ones as some models occasionally have narrower posts, the rivets usually come with the drill bits which is handy. You can also get the rivets with different Heads, domed or flat, I usually keep a few of each the domed ones are good for securing the back wheels on the Corgi tractors. Hope this helps, All the best, Nick.

What size tyres did you use on the trailer. LR is 17mm

Hi Nick. I had that problem with rear canopies on the Land Rover. The model supplies straight on Ebay were, I agree, disgustingly overpriced. Tried getting one complete on Ebay auctions, but always got outbid. Go straight to model-supplies page, list corgi parts & checking the Land Rover MPN, you'll hopefully see it much cheaper. Doesnt fit too well but will stay with a smear of super glue
@crapaudnicksdiecastrenovat17393 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian, yes I always get my parts straight from model supplies now, I wait till I need a few things then then send my order by email, ask them to confirm my order, then I phone them with the payment details, much cheaper that way!

You need a small puller for the "wheels off axles" trick Nick.
