You have to expand slightly heavily in beginning itself to avoid being smaller than players around.

Choose a good position, manage your troops well, use allies and your positioning to your advantage.

Try to mirror the start that Corgi does. 25%x2 40%x2 50%x2 and then get rest of open land and then go for bots. He usually waits for the top bar to nearly reach top before he goes for land
