Long comment…so much to say… 1. Great surprise having Corey pop-up on “humpday”. Love my Saturday videos. This was a special treat. 2. I use the Moda info you shared all the time. I check skews and more often it’s to confirm Bella Solid colors for ordering but also mixing. Ex. Reds. geranium, scarlet, etc. It really seems to help me. Tip: cut a piece/scrap of your solids and add sticker to back - name/skew. You can use these to audition colors and use with a color wheel. It’s been very helpful because I too seem to overthink which at times can get discouraging. It’s a skill that has to develop, we just have to give ourselves grace and keep trucking along. 3. I’m not current participating in MB5, but never say never. I really love the quilt block designs this year. Some of the best ever. We need to remember to be sure and refer back to those block designs. One block repeated would be an amazing quilt, or two, three, etc….possibilities are endless. 4. Love that you are real and just honest. Your audience can relate and we love that. It’s like we are sewing and chatting with a friend. 5. I am smitten with Cali and Co and honestly want a bolt of every print and maybe two of the low volumes. A girl can dream…. 6. Idea - how about a KZbin live where we can ask submit questions “real time” chatting with you. 7. Have you ever considered a Patreon group? I really enjoy the one I am in with Sherri. Just something to ponder on. Your Flower Mill collection is what started my quilting journey. Thank you for inspiring us all! PS. Cali and Co Tshirt design. Hint hint. 😊

I'm excited for Cali & Co. to hit shops later this year...it's going to be so much fun---I can't wait to sew along with everyone during the Cali & Co. mystery BOM! I've debated about a KZbin live but am not sure how our wifi would cooperate.... =) I haven't considered a Patreon group---what happens in the group...I'm clueless about that!

What a beautiful pillow. Maybe that pillow could be called Adventure Star. We've all had projects go awry for no apparent reason. The right attitude makes all the difference. A couple of suggestions: you could have marked the back, painters tape works well too. I don't buy expensive marking pens. I get a pack of Crayola Ultra Washable fine tip markers. It has all the colors and washes right out when I'm finished. The grands head straight for Grandma's markers when they come. ❤😊

Oh Cory what a time you had with your pillow! It is heart warming to hear even a professonal can have days like I do sometimes. Blessings to you and a beautiful and imformative tutorial as usual! Cory I sew clothing as well as quilts and a lesson I learned many years ago that has helped me in marking is when a bar of soap from the shower gets too little to use I take it to my sewing room and keep it in a box. The fine little edges on the soap work wonderful and a marker for dark fabrics and no chance of them discoloring fabric. I have used soap slivers for years for marking as well as traditional water soluible blue markeing pens like you were talking about. Give it a little try sometime.

Corey I love your blocks and your pillow is beautiful. Something that changed my life when making pillows is Sherri McConnell’s You Tube tutorial on how to make a hidden zipper back instead of an envelope back. I hated making envelope backs and will never do it again. Sherri uses ByAnnie zippers which are wider and you don’t even need a zipper foot to install.

It's so nice to have a technique you enjoy using, isn't it! I think that's one of the great things about quilt making....we can each choose the tools & techniques that suit us best.

Love the pillow! Especially love the outer border fabric--the design of the fabric is so fun!

Great video! I love the Moda resources you share, I am also a Bernina / Juki girl 😊 My Juki walking foot gave it's life while quilting a Christmas gift, but thankfully not as many Murphy's Law experiences as you 😆

I guess we all have those nuisance days from time to time 😂 I use an old bar of soap to mark white lines on a black fabric. It works just great. Keep the sharp sliver that you get left with at the end of a bar. You'll be surprised how good it works. An Amish lady taught me that a while ago.

Some days are like that! I hadn't heard of the soap trick before...that's a great suggestion (I'm going to have to tuck that suggestion away). I also have a hera marker that would have been another great option that I thought about *after my pillow was completed.

I love scrappy but I too seem to plan. One time I took all my left over blocks sized them the same and just went for it. It's one of my daughters favorite.

When I have sewing sessions where things just aren’t going right or smoothly, I quit for the day. The pillow is so pretty and I plan to make one to coordinate with the JoyFilled quilt I will be making with Starberry.

That will be lovely with a Joy Filled quilt!

Beautiful pillow. After the sew along for the Cuddle Up quilt, I'll try to make with my scraps....

Oh my goodness on all the issues. I would have stopped and gave it up for the moment. But the pillow top is beautiful.

It was pretty comical how many things went badly all at once!

There’s a saying “When it rains it pours” I feel like that usually happens at least once a month for me, there will be a project that just doesn’t go right from start to finish. Sometimes I just have to step away and come back. Your pillow is beautiful and now every time you pull out that pillow you will have a story to remember making it ;)
