Absolutely love her still listen to her first album to this day. I loved she showed love to my hometown Chicago. Tis very rare that our city is shown in a positive light ❤

This lady is our modern day Nina Simone.... I love all her albums... But black rainbow. Is on a different level... For some reason it reminds me of miles davis... b****** Brew album... In that album miles mixed funk and fusion together with a drop of grunge Rock.. Before there was grunge rock... And actually miles created grunge rock... Without the vocals... Corrine can turn a poem into a song, a song into a movie, a movie into a prime time TV show.... A TV show into a Broadway play... Her talent and passion for life and music is beyond words... What she brings to the table is more than food.... it's a journey... And very few people can do that.... ✌️

I purchased this CD, and this was not her best work. Peach Velvet Sky was the best song on the CD.

I just saw her a couple of weeks ago live and did not like any of the new songs and was trying hard to love it! The last song was and old one, “Just Like Star” & that brought the crowd to life! People were asking her to play her old songs after hearing all the new ones and being underwhelmed. I felt bad for her because I know her music is personal for her.

I read some of the reviews for this new album and there were a lot of negatives but I actually quite liked it. Not every song but I loved the bold new direction and feel and listening to this interview will certainly will make me give it another listen now that I understand the inspiration behind it. I played it twice already and it does get better. You just need to have a bit of an open mind and not compare it to her early work when she was quite young and now approaching middle age. As a person you need to evolve not just spiritually but artistically. Thats what true art is about.

I agree. Not her best work. Her audience is more mellow. She will lose them.
@waynesworldizm Жыл бұрын
@@rosd1135 disagree, I get your used to seeing an artist remain as how you discovered them and got into their music but people naturally evolve and you should accept their art will also. Your not the same person at age 27 as you may be at age 44. I see an artist now very bold and ready to explore deeper variations and inspiration with her music. It’s one of the reasons I love Prince, and artists like Meshell Nedegecello who constantly reinvent themselves without compromising the reason they wanted to make art in the first place. It should never ever be about pleasing your audience. To be authentic you have to live your truth. If people don’t get it, too bad.

I will NEVER go back to Black Rainbows. Not 1 record moved me. And as a day 1 fan I take no pride in saying that, it actually sickens me.
