We have a bunch of oaks, maples, birch, black cherry, hickory and white pine trees. The hickory trees will drop half of their leaves in the fall and then the rest in spring. We have a couple maple trees which stay green up until the first snowfall usually. Then they cover the snowy ground with greenish yellow leaves. Normally if we wait a few days, the snow will melt and we can deal with those leaves. The worst part are the hickory nuts, oak acorns and those long white pine needles. BUT I love the smell of fall when you get a foggy morning or shower.

Here in Florida Our Oak trees don't lose there leaves until spring time . Late Feb. thru March. Nope the leaves don't change color here either. Now on the trees like Sycamore, They just turn brown and fall , which there doing now. All of the Red Maples and Ornamental trees change color just like up North. But Water Oak and the rest of the oak family trees are spring time. Enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing.

Besides providing a neater finished appearance the Z-trim also provides the benefit of flashing to keep any water from getting under the sill plate. Smart. I like it.

Here in NY (The north eastern portion) I've noticed we have oak trees that will hold their leaves throughout winter! Never really seen any other tree do that. Again, I love seeing and hearing Kevin's plans on building the shop. My late father was a civil engineer, so I have a feeling he would've like watching these videos to see Kevin's plans/ ideas. Can't wait for the next video!

We had frost again this morning west of St Louis, MO. There are a few trees that have changed, but I don't think the colors will be very pronounced this year due to the lack of rain. I can see why Kevin chose the Z trim for the bottom, if any condensation were to form on the steel, it would just run off, whereas a J trim would collect it. Blessings to the family, and farm.

Great colour in Ireland this year, our leaves are holding on well despite a bit of wind last weekend. We had a slow and late spring so maybe it’s nature’s way of keeping balance. Also we changed to winter time this weekend and got an extra hour in bed 🛌. Our animals are starting to move in to winter accommodation so extra feeding and cleaning out to be done. Happy farming 🇮🇪

Here in central Texas we are in a mini drought plus heat above normal so there is little or no color (ugly brown due to dryness) and most tree leaves have not fallen yet. Only once a couple years ago with a good long cold snap in late November did we ever have really good colors (brilliant ambers and reds).

Kevin has the right idea. you want to keep channeling any water or moisture outside the walls. any washing or condensation on the walls will not get into the insulation. the Missouri River is down quite a bit but was lower earlier when you could see a barge that had sunk close to the M-291 bridge just north of me. curious is a good description for cows and calves. they stretch out their necks and try to sniff check first. fun to reach out and when they reach out, you can tickle their noses and they pull back and look at you like why did you do that?
