I just love the way you soften the overall effect by playing on the tonal implications of selected fragments. One could hardly tell the fragmented aspect of the piece if one didn't have the score. You sort of "composed" it. Congratulations!

Hi Fabio, many thanks for your kind comment! That means a lot coming from you (I'm a fan!). Yes, as you said I basically used the score as a sort of compositional toolkit to plan out my version. It was a long time ago, but I seem to remember greatly enjoying the experience. Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to comment. All best, Alan

Just now reading your thoughts on this piece in Tilbury’s biography of Cardew. Thank you for these astute observations and your very beautiful performance.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was a long lost Takemitsu work for guitar. Great interpretation! Thank you!

I never thought of that before, but I totally see what you mean about the Takemitsu connection! Thanks for the kind comment! Cheers, Alan

Hi Amilcar, The image in the video is the score! I think I may have found it at the British Music Information Centre many years ago, and I'm not sure if it's published. Maybe you can grab it off the video? Hope that helps! Alan

I would hate to have to read from that score! Not easy listening, but many good sonorities!

Yes, it is a bit different! The idea (as I saw it many years ago when I recorded this) is really to compose your own piece using the written material as a starting point.
