Very cool. Probably should be written in the key of G with F# in the signature, which would avoid many of the # accidentals having to be written in.

Pretty much the most delicate, restrained, thoughtful, and yet dynamic, interesting and beautiful playing I've ever heard Hiromi do. Great transcription too!

I got to see her once at Yoshi's in Oakland. she showed she was very soulful and and capable of playing very restrained and delicately. she improvised a little 5 note thing that still gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. was so simple like something a child would do but so beautifully done. I remember that night walking out just thinking it was the best jazz I had ever heard. she blew me away completely.

Every time I hear this woman play I am reminded of the legendary virtuoso Art Tatum. His style of voicings, runs and scales, his nuanced rhythmic patterns, and imaginative blending of classical, jazz, and popular motifs are all on full display when she works...plus she has technique as formidable as Tatum's. I heard her do a version of Tatum's famous finger breaker "Tiger Rag" once. She was almost him! Her worldwide celebrity among music fans is unquestionably well-deserved.

@skierpage5 жыл бұрын
@@patriciodasilva7902 Lennon wrote the lyrics and sang "In My Life." They remember the music differently, from Wikipedia: Referring to McCartney, Lennon said "his contribution melodically was the harmony and the middle-eight itself." Blackbird is a great jazz standard. I prefer Brad Mehldau's interpretation to Hiromi's lovely version, he plays more with the rhythm and makes the "Into the light of a dark black night" section explode.
