This bird has 5 chicks. What she was did was to go around them to feed, so that each one of them had something to eat. Great job mama bird. Excellent!

Fourth chick at the back isn't getting anything in this clip. Then kestrel mom goes right around. Youngest chick looks weak compared to others despite being fed.

Do the parents feed the dead chick to the others?

austin1839, In nest of all kinds they either remove the chick, let the chick become part of the nest or feed it to the other chicks. Most times it’s the later, they do. It waste anything because finding food in the wild is not always the easiest thing. I know that’s not easy to hear and I’m sorry, but it’s part of nature. 😔😔

Many bird species feed their dead chicks to the remaining siblings to increase their chances of survival when finding food is scarce.
