Hi there, Eduard. I wanted to share with you just how much I’ve loved seeing the progression of your DIY audio gear. I just watched your newest video and see you’ve added a second driver to your VOL inspired speaker. I’ve learned so much from watching and learning from people such as yourself and Janos, plus just communicating with people like Frank. Even though my profession is guitar and tube amp repair, I don’t as much time to design gear as I’d like, but it’s people like you which give me inspiration and keep me motivated. Thanks very much, Eduard.

Thank you Nick, that's a heart-warming thing to hear. I'm with you on the insights shared here in the comments and on Janos' channel; for me they both unlock and inspire to try things out. In my next video I'll talk about what happening with putting the drivers in what is really, a half-size cabinet :)

Thank you Eduard for the very informative video. I'm planning to build a 15" JBL 2226 with CD with a live cabinet. Since I heard the Ocellia Kedros Silver with the very resonant cabinet I was blown away! Since then I totally understand why Ridgid cabinets can't compare. It's 20 years since I heard them. Drove 400 Km one way just to listen to them 😊

Looks like a nice candidate, the JBL2226. Vas is quite low so the cabinet can be of a friendly size :) I'm curious how these high power drivers sound with a tube amp.. many say speakers like the FaitalPro 15PR400 are a good replacement for the older Altec/JBL/EV style high-eff woofers. Re the Ocelia, nice you had that chance to experience them! It's quite fascinating to see how their speaker have been refined over the years as well...

Knowledge is backed by measurements and science 😊

Science = empirical scrutiny. Science only produces knowledge in a free society, else it's relegated to being another religion. Knowledge does not equal wisdom. The nature of measurements is repeatability foremost, hence there's a built-in limitation of relevance to the domain of the measurement.

that looks like it sounds really good. What kind and thickness of wood is that? Did you mount the panels on a frame? I have some 414's I need to build a box for
@EduardBroekman2 ай бұрын
Hi. It's a mix of 9mm pine and 12mm hardwood ply while the internal frame is mostly turpentine hardwood. I'd go for a smaller box than this one to trade in a little low extension for better impact/slam/articulation....
