I do have a bit of an idea that this version of sweetheart is what I'd call a "legacy hire" meaning that due to one or both of their parents being investigators they were practically pressured into it because of continuing the family name and makes everyone else look good. But that's probably my imagination wandering.😅 Edit: I also think this could work for cannon sweetheart as well since they were so young but they have more experience and confidence under the proverbial belt. Ps this doesn't necessarily mean that sweetheart doesn't want to do good and help people. I'm saying that the outlet for that was shaped into the belief that being an investigator was the best/only available option to do that by outside sources.

i have so many thoughts on this but it’s mostly just a) i never realized how important boundaries and respectability are to Milo’s fundamental character until now. like i actually think of all the characters, if someone walked up to a stranger and called them a piece of ass or whatever (real) milo is 10000% the most likely to start throwing hands b) this man should actually be so much more traumatized and angsty than he is in canon given his backstory and the constant reopening of wounds that he has to deal with via his partner being in the department, and it makes me wonder how he’s so levelheaded and put together. like what fuckin therapist is he going to. how did he not turn into /this/ milo c) milo is one of those characters that is rarely mean spirited and that’s what makes this audio particularly jarring. some characters love to tease their partners into annoyance (Guy, asher), patronize them for their own amusement (porter, early Vincent, early Gavin), lightly berate and call them out (david) all in a very healthy and loving way, but milo usually refrains from a lot of those tendencies and opts for teasing through affection?? innuendoes or showing love in an overbearing way that makes their s/o embarrassed. it’s just very sweet and makes this video EXTRA jarring d) milo in all his forms (even this fuckboy one) is endlessly lovable and also a complete fuckin softie lmao
