This reminds me of the time I only had a coballion with very low health, against a whole team. Since the opposing pokemon was fairy type, I used the only steel type move I had, iron head. I didn't even know iron head could flinch. It flinched. For the rest of the battle, I was spamming iron head, and every turn, it either flinched or fainted them. THAT WAS THE BEST MY LUCK HAS EVER BEEN.

Poke Oh OBJECTION! If this is true, then explain to me why the players can always walk past trainers they’ve already battled! If it’s the law for them to battle upon eye contact WITHOUT FAIL, then trainer battles should happen to the player CONSTANTLY, even against trainers they’ve already battled! Yet this is CLEARLY not the case, as the player character is always able to walk past trainers they’ve already battled! If Hilbert has already battled Cheren, then there is no reason for him to do so again! TAKE THAT!

Then explain I shall. It is simple, very simple actually. The answer is that you are correct, BUT you forgot one thing in your case, pokemon battling via eye contact is a rule for pokemon trainers... if they have pokemon able to battle. You state that people that battle you do not battle you because of the law not existing, but in reality it is because their pokemon cannot battle at all because you already beat them, and they stay in a fixed position for... whatever reason they have I suppose. If you don't believe me think of this situation, every day, pokemon trainers are running back to the poke-center to heal their fainted pokemon, and during those runs, they meet the eyes of many trainers that they previously manuevered around, but they do not battle, because they cannot. This situation has happened a countless number of times and is very normal, the reason of why your client has to fight cheren dozens of times, is bacause he actually has healed his pokemon back up, making the law, the law. So take that, and try to explain this you lawyer.

What if I told you that there are, in fact, defeated trainers who are easily able to be re-battled? It’s true! In FireRed/LeafGreen, HeartGold/SoulSilver, AND Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire, there are multiple trainers that can be re-battled at the discretion of the player! Their Pokémon are fully fine and able, yet Red, Ethan, and Brendan are easily able to simply walk past them without battle. They can even make direct eye contact, yet the battle will not initiate unless the protagonist makes a direct interaction! In those instances, both parties are willing and able to battle each other, and those instances are rematches! According to this logic, if Cheren wishes to rematch Hilbert, he needs Hilbert’s approval! *TAKE THAT!*
