The Star Fox 64 Restored OST is one of the many results following the "Gigaleaks of Nintendo" from July 24th and 25th, 2020. Found in the files of the game were not only all of the uncompressed voice lines, but also uncompressed instrument samples for the music, as well as the MIDI sequences used in the game to perform the music. Using the instrument samples and MIDI sequences, I was able to recreate the entire soundtrack to Star Fox 64 in the highest quality we have ever heard.

The snares are pitched too high compared to the original. They're the right samples, they're just out of pitch.

I think we are so used to the original, i mean, compressed original music, then the pitch might sound off. Remember - high pitch sounds are the first to be screwed over under compression. SNES muffled sound is because of the shitty sound memory limit plus the repeat-reverb like effect to mask the compression.

@@akaDL No, I'm pretty sure the snare hits are pitched too high here. I can recreate it in FL Studio and directly compare with the version on the N64. I ripped the original soundfont myself and can confirm the snares in this version are too high. The snare roll sample is fine though.

@@akaDL I just tested my theory in FL Studio, they're pitched up exactly 4 semitones too high in this version as compared to the original N64 version.

There’s something wrong with the G-Defusorer system.

0:05 is wrong. I know in the original hardware is supposed to be a "kick/timpani", but this is wrong, in volume and wrong mix cause lack of reverb. The kick is wrong in volume in general based on my N64 and using AKG K99 as output.

Is this a reupload, or is the MIDI composition a bit different than the one from before?

The MIDI is the same, I just reuploaded to fix things I missed. For example, at 1:13 there was no drum playing with the strings in trumpets. Now there is :)

@@Armaggedun_ awesome, I'm guessing the soundtrack you have uploaded also has this fix? If so, I know what I'm doing later today. Oh, and I just listened to Warp, both the official soundtrack and your restoration. It's really incredible listening to the differences between the two versions with how crisp your restoration is.
