The judgment of God is the natural result of our disobedience to Him. The people of Joel’s day experienced a devastating invasion of locusts as a sign of God’s judgment for their sin and disobedience. Joel also looks into our future and sees the time of the Great Tribulation as a sign of God’s judgment for a future generation. But in the midst of God’s judgment for our sin is His mercy to forgive us of our sins. Joel writes about how compassionate, merciful, and loving God is, and that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Are you saved? Do you know what it means to have your sins forgiven and to be in a relationship with Jesus? Pastor Gary unpacks all that in today’s message from the book of Joel.

It’s been reported by NDE people who call out to Jesus found themself saved from a dark place. Some reports said people cried out “Jesus save me” and escaped being dragged off by demons to a hot place. Jesus Saves!

The book of Joel is a powerful and prophetic book in the Bible that captures both the judgment and restoration of God's people. In Joel, we see a portrayal of the devastating consequences of sin and the need for repentance. However, amidst the judgment, there is also a message of hope and restoration. Joel points us to the ultimate solution for sin and brokenness, which is found in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. The cross represents the culmination of God's plan for redemption and reconciliation. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we have the opportunity to receive forgiveness and restoration. The book of Joel, like many other books in the Bible, foreshadows and points us to the work of Christ on the cross.
