Another stunning painting - your work is outstanding and watching your process has informed my own work. Your NZ and Scotland paintings (both landscapes I'm familiar with) are absolute delights. Thank you for sharing with us - any chance of a workshop in Brisbane one day?

Mr Allain, my sticks are all big pieces as I am a beginner though very keen, it’s very difficult to lay on paper to make ideal marks or shades, should I break them all to pieces🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I love your work! May I ask what paper you use and if you apply any fixative when finished? Thank you.

Danielle Grzelska thank you for your interest in my work. I use mostly gritted paper like UART 400, colourfix original by Art Spectrum and Pastel Permier. All of 6 of these demos are painted on black UART 400 paper. I never use fixative as I tend to believe that this added layer onto the finished work has a tendency to slightly darken the values. Others may disagree, however it is a personal choice. Thanks for the questions.
