My reviews are not influenced by any company or individual other then my own opinion. I will never review a game I was paid to check out however I do receive review copies of many games I review and always include in the description if I did receive it as a review copy. My scale is 0 - 10 for a game to get a 10 it must be a once in a generation style of game those that change gaming or have a major impact for years to come. I use the score of 5 to showcase a game that is average in everything that it does. It doesn't mean the game is bad its just usually one of those very forgettable games. In order for a game to get a 1 or 0 it has to be really truly awful filled with bugs and glitches, super short, way too overpriced, horrible controls, etc.

Very good review!! I was the illustrator who did the promotional artwork and cutscene art for the game, and I can possibly shed some light on why they didn't change the name: The company is based out of Spain - and English is not their first language - so I'm sure the word they were originally going for was Regnum (Latin for Kingdom). I brought it to their attention, and what reknum would sound like to those of us in English speaking countries, but they said they were just gonna go for it anyway. In their defense, I'm guessing they already had the name legally secured as Reknum by the time I spoke with them. Plus they had already presented it at a handful of conventions, so for that reason I can understand why they left it as is. Tl;dr: the title was a translation error and they meant to use the word Regnum (kingdom) , but by the time it was brought to their attention it was too late into development.

This game looks absolutely relaxing even if it's not objectively great. Plus theres a lack of linear action platformers in recent years so I'm glad they didnt try to make the 10,000th indie metroidvania with Souls style combat

Looks are deceiving. It's a frustrating mess. It's about as relaxing as pouring acid in your eyes. I'm with you as someone who likes more linear, level-based platformers and I'm tired of the Metroidvania formula but this game's design is wretched. It only looks laid back on the surface.

Bought this, instantly regretted. I'm no stranger to tough games with one hit kills, but this game just feels cheap as hell. The last section of the first level for example, with falling one hit kill platforms that you can't see, just out of screen.
