Hey everyone on this episode of Play it Through its New Ghostbusters 2 for NES brought to us by HAL. It never came to North America which is such a shame because this game is a ton better then the Activision nes games we did get. You can play as any of the ghostbusters including Louis and battle through several levels busting lots of different ghosts.

Ahh, glad to see you play this Ghostbusters game finally. I had seen a playthrough of this one a few years ago, and was very impressed with the graphics and gameplay mechanics. I liked how they followed the second film storyline pretty well too. That boss fight with Dr. Yonnish was the most interesting and challenging battle of all for this run. You played it like an Ace! Thanks again for playing and sharing your skills. ^_~

I enjoy the 8-bit renditions of the Ghostbusters II soundtrack. I'm wondering if part of the reason it wasn't distributed here is due to music licensing regulations; a issue plaguing numerous video games in the NES era (it's the reason, for example, that the music in Back to the Future on NES is so sped-up and hardly recognizable, to avoid any legal issues, using "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis).

The GameBoy version is even better. It has the same pick 2 GBs, zap & trap gameplay. But there's actual boss battles, power ups, and you're given a number of ghosts to bust in each area instead of getting an arrow every five seconds, which encourages more exploration. I highly recommend it if you like this one.

I owned a cart back in the day. It is undoubtedly the best NES Ghostbusters game and, incidentally, the easiest one as well. It is rather well-known in Central/Eastern Europe. Thankfully I never played Ghostbusters 1 on NES, seems I lucked out in this department. :)

Does it play ok on NTSC (speed?) or are you using a PAL emu?

+Stephen Bianchi If you referring, that the PAL version works on NTSC machine, then it does, but you might wanna import the japanese version.

2nd best Ghostbusters game after Ghostbusters (2009). Sega Megadrive/Genesis would be 3rd. I did enjoy original NES game as well.

This game looks damn good for 1989, but I must say the Genesis version is much better. This one seems quite monotonous.
