How wonderful for those households that are full of energetic individuals (kids, cats, dogs, clumsy relatives, etc). Less breakage. Kids should love to play with it. 👍💖

I just have to say a big THANK YOU for the cornucopia tutorial and pattern! It was the highlight of my Thanksgiving this year. The kids loved it! The little girl next door promptly dumped out all the food and wore it as a hat! My grandson, who is 12, also wore it as a hat but then he devised a food fight out of all the mini pumpkins, pear and apple. I think you should come out with a game version next year!!!!

Well you sound like you had infinitely more fun than we did at Thanksgiving * giggle * Note to self, have mini food fight next year with tiny pumpkins!!

Actually , It's a goat's shape horn overflowing with maybe flowers, fruits, and sometimes corn. Whatever you fill with it's a special offering token to give Thanks on the harvest etc.. in Canada. Thanks again for making up the wonderful Cornucopia Shell.
@JaydaInStitches5 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephanie, yes! It's based on a Greek myth in which a God with a goat form had her horn broken off and Zeus gave it back to her enchanted so that it would always be full of plenty :) So neat!

Could you also use macrame thread/yarn? If you wanted a stiff look you could also starch it heavily. Could you make cornucopia placemats and coasters? And if you make the cornucopia small enough you could use it as a silverware holder. Just a few things I just thought about and thought I would suggest it to you and see what you thought(if it was /would be doable).
@JaydaInStitches5 жыл бұрын
It's a cornucopia of cornucopias! * giggle * Love it :) If your macrame rope isn't too thick (and you have enough of it) I think that would be a good choice :)

Does it matter what Weight the yarn is? I have been looking for a thing to do with my sport weight wool yarn and the colors I have are perfect for this. I will try it and see .
@JaydaInStitches5 жыл бұрын
HI ML, 3 strands of your sport weight yarn would make a nice stiff fabric :)
@ml71245 жыл бұрын
Cool thanks a bunch.
@tracyhillman15495 жыл бұрын
Is Red Heart Super Saver yarn stiff enough for this project? If not could you recommend some Canadian acrylic brands of yarn? I’m unable to use wool as it irritates the skin.
@JaydaInStitches5 жыл бұрын
Hi Tracy, a lot of this comes down to the feel test - some yarn feels smooth, some soft, some itchy and stiff. You can check out your stash to see if you have any yarns in colours you'd like to use (and remember to crochet tightly for stiff fabric, in which case the super saver should be fine).
