Just came across this. Very impressive. My little nephew loves trains so hopefully I can take him to a model display like this one day. The sounds of the trains sound like the real thing as well. So impressive.

The more I see of this layout the more it becomes a favourite. I really like the attention to detail on the train formations. Hopefully you can save the layout. I'm away to purchase my lottery ticket.😊 Thanks for posting.

Kevin how lucky you are to see this layout in the flesh! After seeing it in the magazine I’m so pleased you’ve shared the running session and bought back great memories of my youth living in slough and spotting between reading and Paddington, cheers Darrell

Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing this video. I saw this layout in this months Hornby magazine a few days ago, it really does look amazing in the video. I always thought Penwithers was huge, but this one really is massive. Thanks again for sharing and all the best Dave.

Hi Kevin I was lucky enough to be shown this Layout by John a few years ago. John used to come to see my layout " Lostwithiel on the Boconnoc Estate. If I remember correctly Norman Solomon put down the track.

Hi Kevin Yes, I still have " Lostwithiel" but now also in O gauge and part of the Weatherbury Magna and Monksbury Group. Norman Solomon is a renowned professional track builder in "oo" and "o" and brought completed sections to Cornwall and stayed locally while he installed the boards.

Tell me a bit about the DRS coaches on the nuclear flask train. I have the locomotives and flask car and would very much like to add some coaches like these.
@kevintregunna11 ай бұрын
I don’t really know much about those some one had brought them to run on the layout before it was dismantled
@henriknilsson785111 ай бұрын
@@kevintregunna I think this might be two of the Mk2 BSO DRS coaches from the Bachmann collectors club issued in 2021.

My word that's impressive! As you may remember Kevin, I've spent a fair bit of time on Reading station so know it well, or rather knew it, doubt I'd recognise it now! Random fact, back in the 70s when I was a -trainspotter- keen rail enthusiast ;-) the female announcer on Reading station was rather well known for her very posh and clipped sounding voice. A Radio 1 DJ made fun of her for a while and legend has it she can be heard in the background of 'The Sound of the Suburbs' by The Members. Imagine The Queen doing the announcements and you'd get the idea of what she sounded like. Funny the things you remember!

Hi Mick thanks yes it certainly looks different there now bet there was some lovely sights running through did you take many pictures back then I lost all mine with parents having a tidy up luckily have managed to pick up a collection or two with some lovely photos
@micks613 жыл бұрын
@@kevintregunna Oh yes, Reading - lots of Westerns of course, and all the usual other stuff that went through there, and I also got photos of the prototype HST when it went through one day. That was back when I had my trusty Zenit - E camera. Sadly, all my old railway photos have gone missing as well - lost on one of the house moves no doubt. A real shame, all those photos from Black Bridge (including one of a class 31 that came through light engine one day, none of the others believed me until I got the photo developed!) or down by the barrier at Truro as well as all the other places I went to. But there we go - still got the memories, and your layout to remind me!
@kevintregunna3 жыл бұрын
@@micks61 that is a shame my memory is not as good as it used to be but the wonders of Facebook with all the different groups for each loco certainly brings an abundance of photos to bring those memories back

@@kevintregunna Ah, I'm not on Facebook, but KZbin at least gives me a Maybach fix every now and again with some good Western action! Got to be the best sounding diesel loco of their time - that roar makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Deltics? Nah, sound like a spin dryer they do! Talking of KZbin Wessies kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKO7coiZZ6yagpo&ab_channel=BlackWatch013 That's my favourite! Gentle pull away to start with, gets under the signal and then opens it up - magic! I know it's downhill there out of Temple Meads but it still buggers off smartish too - quite lively acceleration still for an oldie!
