Love the work you guys do. I tried my hand at an ABS amp board under the seat of my Tacoma to hold a Kicker Key 180.4 and 500.1. Came out half decent for a first attempt, thanks for the encouragement to push myself.

I'm tempted to drive to FL just to have these guys put new speakers, subwoofer and an amp on my 2020 Corolla hatchback

Do it. Would be a nice drive there and back hearing the difference in sound quality knowing it was installed and tuned properly. I would if i wasnt all the way across the unite states.

I’m really considering driving to y’all from California and have you guys redo my audio system. Every time there’s no music on and volume is down my speakers just “hummm” or if I’m in reverse it makes a clicking noise. You guys are awesome!

Hey Dean thanks for this video have the same amp to install.

If Dean isn’t the installer of the year every year, there’s something wrong with the world. The small detail that makes this install crazy is the little protector for the bass knob connector… NOBODY WOULD EVER think about that… only an OCD master like Dean ahahahaha

I expect greatness from you Dean! The amp was not square to the amp board...
@webberfan12343 жыл бұрын
Maybe he had to make it that way so it could fit correctly.
@markbest42303 жыл бұрын
@@webberfan1234 I don't think so. He said there was plenty of clearance when he put the amp in to figure up the abs dimensions... it's just a snafu...
@ThomMurphy3 жыл бұрын
Maybe, even if there was plenty of room, the amp is squared to the car or the seat, rather than the board. You can see the board doesn't seem squared to the car, when he's measuring and marking.
@webberfan12343 жыл бұрын
@@ThomMurphy Guys, we all know Dean has his methods. I wouldn’t question a man of his caliber.
@ThomMurphy3 жыл бұрын
@@webberfan1234 what? As a natural born skeptic, I tend question everything and have never met anyone above reproach. Still, in this case, I suggested two reasons the amp my not squared to the board which could be a product of purpose versus neglect. Essentially, I suggested Dean may have applied a "method", or had a reason, for the board and amp not being square to each other. So, I don't understand why your comment was directed at me. I qualified my comment with a "maybe", because regardless of Dean's "caliber", I don't believe he's above an occasional mistake. I mean, even in this video he admitted to failing to properly seat a nut zert. Still, given his overall history and how obvious the issue was, particularly when drilling the sub control wire's zip tie holes, it's hard for me to imagine it was simply overlooked and unintentional. I appreciate that Mark noticed. It seems he would have appreciated an explanation in the video. That said, I think it's a bit unfair, of Mark, to assume this was something less than "greatness". Even if I could have been done better, there may have been constraints we're unaware of. Perhaps one the most likely such constraints being budget, either of time or money. If either of those were sufficiently limiting, this may indeed be "greatness". Even as is there should be little doubt that it's a quality, clean looking, and professional intall at an uncommonly high standard.

Is there any issues with wire that have ferrules chattering against the metal screw downs on the amp when bass hits? Its not uncommon to need to retighten those every once in a while.

I don’t really understand that “hi-res” compatible advertisement on amps. Is this marketing? In my believe a good amp hasn’t to branded as hi-res; just a good dampening factor, bandwidth and signal to noise ratio. My Ground Zero 6.200 sq plus doesn’t say hi-res compatible, but I am struggling to believe this Kenwood is a better amp. Or am I wrong?
@michaelbloom53423 жыл бұрын
It's a class D amp, which the great many of them are garbage for critical listening. It's why most of them are relegated to subwoofer duty. They put "High Res" on this one to let you know it's a full range amp that doesn't sound like your typical trashy D garbage that's so prevalent in the industry.
@umtbozkr23583 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbloom5342 exactly! That a DAP can play FLAC or other high rated files, which other sources can’t, ok, understandable. But an amp plays what you give to it.
