Great video. A part number for your polyurethane bushing kit would make it perfect. Are you out in Wisconsin? I'm in Minnesota about 40 minutes from the border. I have an 08 Corolla I'm going to start replacing a bunch of stuff on at 160k.

Dude - I just bought a 2005 Corolla for my teen. Looks like I will be watching a lot of your videos as although the engine/transmission seem great, lotsa rust mitigation, clearly need to replace rear axle beam bushing and more. Should be interesting. Thanks for posting.
@johnmcminn9455 Жыл бұрын
hey man, just wondering , it looks like you cut the rubber bushing out of the way to get the Sawzall in then cut a slit in the housing to release it then chiseled it out. I guess it is visible not to cut too much when you're actually doing it How long did the 2ed side you did actually take?
@riceburner4747 Жыл бұрын
Buy fluid film or super shield & spray underside. ESPECIALLY the ends of the arms that corrode u were handling. They come in spray cans. I'm curious to see how poly bushings act. 👍 good job.

Anyone can link to the tool to push out the old bushings, my rear bushings are shot and need replacing. Already have energy suspension replacements ready to put in. Or anyone know an easier way to get the job done, i do not have a sawzall to cut the metal sleeve.

hey man been watching your vids lately cuz i bought a corolla 03 s, and i got a few questions if thats cool. how many miles on yours? and is it worth it to put work into an old corolla like that? because i want to start working on mine but dont wanna put in a bunch of work for it to die in a few years. lmk man thanks!
@WillChang3 жыл бұрын
I've got 163xxx miles on mine, I think it's worth putting work into it unless it's a rust bucket that's rotting away, besides that though it'll last a long time and the engine and transmission won't give you any trouble. Thanks for the questions!

I like your videos man I have an 03 that I am working on what would you do because mine keep over heating and I think it my head are head gasket and I was wondering what should I do to put a new head are head gasket in are a new engine
@WillChang3 жыл бұрын
I'd first make 100% sure that it is the head gasket going out, I assume you've seen all the visual indicators like white exhaust smoke, smoke from the radiator cap, etc. Have you used one of those head gasket chemical testers at all? If it is a head gasket issue, then fixing it really depends on your skill set, pulling an engine in my opinion is a little easier than taking the engine apart but if you're skilled then replacing the head gasket will be much cheaper. Otherwise, definitely have a look at the radiator, radiator hoses, coolant, thermostat, and pretty much everything else in the cooling system if you haven't already.
