All I can say is I am completely obsessed with this perfume... I literally bought 6 bottles ... one 250 ml and five , 75mls ... if I could have this as a body odour I would ... it’s that amazing!!!!

Totally and 100% agree. The other thing that pisses me off is that the reason they gave for the price increase (75 ml used to be 130€, now it's 170) was the corresponding increase in concentration. But as you so perfectly put it, anyone who has smelled both versions can immediately see that's just BS. How on earth can it be more concentrated when it doesn't last as long, the scent is not as rich and the juice is lighter? And what pisses me off even more is that they are totally going to get away with this rip off, because the bloody thing still smells amazing so we're still going to keep buying it.

It's so incredibly lame when companies try to do extra capitalizing when their sales go way up and they think they can raise the price. It's a faux pas in terms of business tactics because they lose customer trust.

It’s $275 now, for the edp. Which is much stronger but the edt is creamier and smooth. But edp lasts alot longer.

Question: did the EDT have a greater longevity than the EDP? I agree Chanel’s products are becoming increasingly more expensive but significantly weaker. I have worn Cristalle Eau Verte for years, older versions would linger for days. Bought a bottle in 2018 and barely lasts 4 hours. So disappointing. 😕

Your assessment is 'spot on'...! When a major and established company, that formed it's reputation by being a luxury brand, compromises it's quality and does low level back alley 'bait n switch', like a shiesty dealer that tries to switch nickel bags on you... 😕 And then has the nerve to charge MORE... for a watered down and clearly INFERIOR product. It suggests a huge disrespect for their customers intelligence and spending options.

What kills me with these composition changes that these fragrance houses make is that they are never for the better. When was the last time you heard that a reformulation actually improved a scent. It's frustrating having to scurry when you hear your favorite fragrance is getting reformulated. Sycomore, is a completely different scent IMO. Totally disgraceful, I guess our money isnt green enough for these fragrance houses.

Ya I just paid $600 for the larger bottle of Sycamore EDT bc I was so disappointed in the reformulation EDP version. I won’t buy the EDP, I’ll scour the internet buying the original until they decide to go back. I think lots of loyal customers are very disappointed and they will see soon a large drop on in sales. I think these large companies think the normal population is too stupid to notice but boy are they wrong.

Prada Amber EDP has very similar notes, but is less complex. It is more soapy and lacks the white chocolate/cinnamon buttery notes Coromandel has. It’s worth trying though!

Hi Dan I found out which one I have, I was instructed to look through the bottle and found out I have the EDT 6.8 you're right the EDT is darker, I purchased it from tradesy online for $240 thanks Dan.

Testify Dan. Not too sure if the juice colour has anything to do with it considering that it may just be a dye, but I hear ya. Sometimes I wonder just how much obfuscation goes on behind closed doors regarding regulations and ingredients. Like what would happen if undeniable evidence was exposed that a readily used chemical in consumer perfumery was highly toxic, or being used for some nefarious purpose? How would us fragheads cope with the news? How would such a different perspective alter our outlook, especially on popular designer or inexpensive clone houses? We can only speculate, but the business game is surely a harsh mistress.

How long have you had the edt? They become darker as time passes. I might be wrong but that could be the reason for color differences.

Thanks for the review. I have the edt and edp versions of coromandel. the edt was produced in 2015. they are too close. I smilled older edt tester produced in 2013 or less. this version is too different than both edt and edp. I think it is too hard to find that 2013 batch which was fantastic. however coromandel still a masterpeice and worth the hype.

I've never experienced the edt, which apparently is a good thing because I love the edp. I ultimately buy more niche/indie, but the hype on this frag by the community convinced me to try it. I agree, the cachet of Chanel also adds a bit of expectation of excellence, and that they are "reformulating" or should I say "de-formulating" is a massive let down. I've heard the same woes for Sycomore, Cuir De Russie, and others. Bummer. Well, cheers to the indies for keeping it real. You too, Dan. Peace.

Ooo my baby's! EDP = Sultry Silky Smooth white chocolate patchouli. EDT = Sharper Citrusy bright with patchouli.

This fragrance to me is similar to Coco blanc by House of Matriarch. Coromandel is alot cheaper so its a better purchase.

...and speaking of musks and Musc Ravenger.. I just got my nose on a bunch of Manceras and Holidays by them smells almost identical to me.. the musk is so prevalent but people get more coconut supposedly when I checked fragrantica.

Edp are generally stronger but not all the time. Edp juice is darker of course. The edt from Chanel is clearly darker than the edp which means less oil concentration.

Normally women's frags are marketed as edp when most of them are probably not where edt is marketed towards men. They probably wanted to catch the female consumer by labeling it an edp. Who would know??? Most people wouldn't.
