I was right into slot cars in the 60s and 70s. I think the repetitive nature of the old track systems and the emergence of RC models pretty much killed the hobby. I had no idea slot car technology had evolved to this level! Thanks for the video. 👌

I Just picked up one of the Ford Fastbacks set. But after seeing this I have some work to do, great video thanks for the inspiration. I take it those are your boys? Great dad if so passing on the love of the simple pleasure of being a kid. I have to say you took me back, when I was a kid I had all of the tracks you mentioned AFX TYCO but I thought I was the only person who remembered TCR with the car that would just get in the way. ;^)

Very nice track. Love it. I'm in the process of setting up a track. I noticed 5 tables. Are the dimensions of each table 30" x 72"? The way you arranged them means you have a 150" x 72". Correct? Thanks for confirming.

That's correct, however, I wish I had 1 more table cuz the straight leading up to the banked curve as well as the hairpin curve was literally hanging off the edge where we couldn't put the track borders and settled for just the vertical flexible borders on them. But it honestly worked out just fine the way it did :)

Nice family day!! But i keep out the magnets of carrera's car, but i don't know if how afected in digital sistem, it is very enjoy driving mode whidout magneto.

Maybe when the kids are older I'll try removing the magnets. Currently they've learned not to go full speed but still need practice on the curves...without magnets they would just be flying off the track most of the time :P

Love the video, notice your using some 3rd party controllers? How did you all find them compared to the standard ones?

They are Frankenslot Wireless controllers. They are great and I'm really impressed with them that I replaced all my Carrera controllers. You have the option to increase the throttle step resolution from the standard 16 steps to 30 or 44 which makes the cars increase in speed "smoother" (difficult to describe but that's the word I came up with). They are expensive but I prefer the trigger controller over the Carrera thumb button. You can find them online at carreraslots.com and other sites but seem to be out of stock at the moment.
