The two horse-drawn coaches that will be used at the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort - have taken centre stage during overnight rehearsals in central London. The new sovereign and consort will initially travel in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey in ‘The King’s Procession’ before returning to Buckingham Palace after their crowning - in the magnificent gold State Coach, as part of ‘The Coronation Procession’.

The Gold Coronation Coach is a masterpiece on wheels . Looking forward to seeing the new King and Queen inside it at the Coronation . I am so happy to be alive to witness the Coronation of a Britsh Monarch for the first time .The Garden Party should be awesome tomorrow with many senior Royals present. I couldn't be more proud of the man Prince William has become. He will be a wonderful and loyal support to his father, King Charles, and is one son who can be trusted and relied upon . I am looking forward to seeing Prince William swearing his allegiance to his Father the King at the Coronation and also assisting the bishops to clothe the King in his Robes . It will be a heartfelt and very genuine moment. Prince William is also going to pay tribute to Queen Camilla at the coronation concert on Sunday . My Mother and her brother were of Hapsburg descent though born in the USA, and so in 1953 I remember watching the Coronation of the young Queen Elizabeth II in my Uncle's house (my mother had died in 1950: I was 3 in 1950) in Los Angeles on his new Color TV (many bought TVs just to see the Coronation on TV), and in 1953 I was 6 years old. I didn't know much but I was fascinated at the Coronation and all the spectacular events of it. I never forgot it, though I didn't see much of my Uncle after that because my father remarried. Since Prince Charles was born I have watched his life events, and now I am thrilled to see him Coronated as King. Now I am 76 so blessed am I to see both Coronations in my lifetime. 🌹

Last time I was in London, I finally got to the Royal Mews. I had not been able to make it there on prior visits. Those coaches are magnificent. We were told that the King's Coach is so big that the wall of the building that they are stored in, has to be removed to get it out. Quite a feat. I remember hearing an interview with Her Majesty and she said that coach was quite uncomfortable to ride in. I just say I miss her and yet I believe King Charles will really be a good King. I was eight years old when Her Majesty had her coronation and I remember my parents listening on the radio. We hadn't yet gotten a TV. I think we all just thought she would live forever. King Charles has some shoes to fill. I think he will do it well.
