Alan was the only character back then who would’ve potentially beaten Jim McDonald in a fight. Terry was an ex-paratrooper and Alan laid him out with ease.

They where both in it at the same time just weeks before Alan Bradley was killed off but they made sure they never crossed paths as Jim was to be his successor as the new hardman as they had already decided to kill Bradley off at this point.
