This is proper coronation street with realistic well written brilliantly acted characters with the right balance of comedy and tragedy. Today's show is full of dull and boring characters with a mixture of depressing and farfetched toxic storylines that have me reaching for the tv remote.

2 professionals at there very best today’s coronation street isn’t worth watching actors and actresses who can’t act full of makeup to try and make them look good but makeup doesn’t make beauty being natural is beauty 1 Hilda Ogden is better than this recent bunch all put together

Continuity was never strong in those days. Ivy Tilsleys first husband had several names before he first appeared as Bert in I think 1977 and at one point she said she was childless but then Brian (her mummy's boy of a son played by a terrible actor) turned up
