Lauren’s dad is such a hypocrite. His daughter was the one that started all of this. You can’t just bully someone’s family member and expect that person not to stand up for them. +Awesome Guy: In all honesty, David did assault Lauren, and while he didn't hurt her, his actions severely harmed Laurens appearance and self-esteem temporarily. Because of this, you can understand her fathers frustration, but, like David, he went about it the wrong way. Violence is never the answer to this, and while there would be "double trouble" if David called the police on her father (double trouble meaning they would both be punished), David would want to avoid that, and Laurens dad knew that and so knew he would get away with it. The right way about it would be for her dad to speak to David, ask him why he did it and try to get him to apologise, which he did. I think it was out of fear, but he did say sorry. Saying it to Lauren would be the next step. Unfortunately, despite Laurens dad going about it the wrong way, David did deserve the beating for getting involved and for going about it the wrong way with the situation of the bullying between Lauren and Bethany. In general terms, the right way about it would have been to ask both girls why they don't get along and why they are behaving like this, and trying to get them to see how they would feel if it was them being treated like this (being bullied), not by making rash decisions and threats, like David did, even though Lauren deserved it for doing what she did, there may have been a reason for it that Lauren could not help, such as emotional neglect or trauma, or lack of attention. Speaking to the bully, rather than bullying back, may stand a better chance in getting this answer. After David did what he did, it resulted in Laurens dad doing what he did and then a stem of wrong actions sprouted out of control.
