I don’t think today’s Corry can top that, flipping magnificent ❤😂

I’m an American, so I’m seeing these for the first time. What strikes me so much of these early episodes is how they were basically 30 minute plays. I mean, the band playing through after the fight has broken up was just genius.
@bojack403 ай бұрын
Absolutely. It didn’t become Soap as we know it until later. It’s not just a UK thing. Watch the first episodes of the Mary Tyler Moore show. They are also 30m plays.
@michaelroberts737419 күн бұрын
It was filmed live up to a certain point. Then they did live episodes much later. It really was a ground breaking, amazing phenomenon for a good 40 years. Then it went south, badly. A reflection of our times?

@@peter0010 Exactly! Also next year will be a banner year. Helen worth will celebrate 50 years as Gail, Sue Nicholls (Audrey) will celebrate 45 years. Peter Bergman will celebrate 35 years as Jack Abbott #2 on Y & R and Melody Thomas Scott will celebrate 45 Years as Nikki. I would have loved for Don Hastings (Ex Bob Hughes) As The World Turns to play Ken Barlow's old american pen pal.

Ena Sharples: "Look, this bag was a birthday present - it's not a plaything for any common harpie to go on!" Elsie Tanner (incensed): "What did you call me?" Elsie Tanner: "Oh, it's beneath 'er, is it, but it's not beneath me, I suppose? That's the sort of thing I do, is it?" Albert Tatlock: "Oh, I never opened me mouth." Elsie Tanner: "If she chucked you out o' your house you'd be screamin' from 'ere till Christmas, so you shurrup!" Ena Sharples: "She's never been short of men in their house since Arnold took 'is 'ook - many more than Fanny Hill!" Elsie Tanner: "Now look 'ere - you'll only move me out of this house when I want to go. In the meantime, go an' jump in the cut!"
