Phil was a man of quiet dignity. He was the best thing that could have happened to Gail. He spoke to her honestly, about how she blew things out of proportion. David had his mother a mess - just where he wanted her.

This was Gail’s first bloke since Richard. Being driven into the canal meant David had lost all trust of anyone that came into his mum’s life since. He had become very overprotective

They should have brought Phil back for Gail’s departure storyline after the actor who played Martin Platt dropped out. Would have been better than Jesse Chadwick
