Everyone who is here is addicted to retro Corrie. I've been binge-watching all year going back to the early 1970s. I think the 1990s was probably the beginning of the end of the great, funny, believable characters and storylines. But it got me through Australia's brutal COVID lockdowns so I'm not complaining. xx

I'm looking forward to Tricia making an exit. A dreadful character who's either arguing and shrieking when she isn't being snarky. I doubt there's even one scene where she's agreeable throughout, it doesn't feel like it anyway. She wasn't written or played with the depth needed to arouse some understanding and empathy for her and the circumstances she's in.
@EveHenleySpread2 жыл бұрын
She’s absolutely awful isn’t she.. really marks a point where the quality drops dramatically! Always whining about ‘her Jamie’ etc. No redeeming qualities as a character.

The hypocrisy and self righteousness the writers foisted upon Jack's character each time Terry makes an appearance is nauseating. He was an appalling father to Terry and a hopeless husband to Vera. Yet to read the comments you would think Jack was Sir Walter Raleigh. The writers obviously done a great job of conditioning viewers to think otherwise.

Y'know, over the last few months watching these wonderful Corries ive come to the conclusion that Jacko Duckworth Is a lovely man! There is alot of kindness & care in him, he tries to bluff things out being the hard man & with pretentions of being a successful business man etc etc but he never sets out to hurt any one or cause trouble... Well only with Vera! Lol In his way he loves her & has stayed with her for over 32yrs Ok hes had his moments esp the hilarious alter ego as Vince St Clair! But if any woman really comes onto him he gets cold feet & backs off in fear! Bless him His Vince St Clair persona is really for himself! To boost his ego & give him self esteem. Id loved those scenes when grandson Tommy was a baby & we saw him babysitting, singing & talking to the baby & any scene where hes with a little one, you can see those babes & toddlers snuggle into him & feel totally at ease with him! That's a true test of character not just of Jack but Bill Tarmey Actor! I bet he was a great dad & grandad & he is devoted to his wife in real life! Long Live the Duckies, they are worth their weight in gold Thanks to EHS for the continuation of our once best beloved soap! We all appreciate your dedication & travail in providing our daily fix I'll bet the viewing figures arent as high for todays Corrie but my deep feeling is that i wanted to keep good memories of Corrie with the good times, i dont want to find out what its come to in These past 15yrs or so! Many many thanks 🇬🇧👧

@Saul Goodman Yep - I couldn't agree more. And this was how Corrie was heading in the mid-1990s.
