I was so shocked as i turned off from soaps around about the time yasmeen met geoff and then to see how the story has developed. Well done corrie. Turned mild mannered Geoff into full blown true life baddie. A storyline well done as to imagine only how many people suffer with this kind of torment and abuse. "Behind closed doors" doesn't mean fists and bruises, and this brought it to life.

Crystal I don’t think abusers discriminate in who they chose, they know how to emotionally abuse anyone, they gain their trust, charm their way into the lives of the victim and know what to say to twist everything and assert their authority. I think Geoff could have done this to anyone. Yasmeen was quite a strong individual until Geoff reduced her to an emotional wreck. I feel so sorry for people going through this in real life and especially right now during lockdown

It is such a bullshit storyline. Where's the help/support from family & friends? Wheres the powerful woman who refuses to take it anymore & LEAVES? Nope....she has to go to jail & get abused all over again. Has to PROVE he abused her. Yup...keep victimizing the victim. Its exhausting, triggering & has had a very negative effect on my abilities to get out of the abusive situation I am currently in.

Silly thing is they've all said dial 999 then 55 if you are in an abusive relationship but silly Corrie has just shown Geoff taking her bank cards phone lap top & locking her in. Just given all the abusers more ideas!!

*In an ideal world it should be made law to tell you're being abused, that way the victim wouldn't have to put up with this type or behaviour and the abuser wouldn't feel the urge to do it.*

SCP-096 : The Shy Guy But in soaps victims are dumbed down to sell the story and we shouldn't approve of that because it's only going to influence people. believe or not there's abusers out there that actually watch soaps and take ideas from them and reenact it in their own relationship cause that's how messed up they are. They need to change how we see abuse and how you can get the better of your abuser

They are so clever these psychological abusers. They take you in with charm & befriend your family & friends. Complement you & then cleverly bit by bit wear you down. They lie to friends about you & lie to you about your friends. Eventually you don't know where to turn because you can't trust anyone because you think they're all on his side. When she went to work he was there watching & he set her so many tasks she had no free time. Poor woman. If only she hadn't visited Audrey in hospital. Control freaks enjoy overpowering strong people. They never give up.

Its amazing how many of us are or have been. It creeps up on you & in the end you go along with it for a quiet life. The controllers always seem to have such boundless energy & feed off any weakness you show. Why can't people just accept the way we are & not want to change us.
