Can somebody jog my memory please? Why did Steve and Vicky appear in court?

He also tried to blame the whole thing on Vicky who in turn testified against him in court. Vicky got a 1 year suspended sentence, then left for Switzerland while Steve got 2 years imprisonment and was paroled 1 year into his sentence.
