Catch Cosmo the corpse flower blooming for the first time at CSU's Plant Growth Facilities Conservatory in this timelapse video.
Native to Sumatra and Indonesia, the corpse flower, or Amorphophallus titanum, is the largest unbranched inflorescence (or collection of flowers acting as one) in the plant kingdom. They can grow up to 8 feet tall; and during bloom, their corpse-like smell lures pollinators like carrion beetles and flies.
Cosmo bloomed for the first time in the eight years it has been at CSU, attracting thousands of people to come see (and smell!) the corpse flower. Learn more: col.st/JWsEh
