Good luck riding one of those infernal scooters, with or without two bags of takeaway food, JP. The video reminded me of how all the indoor spaces in Corralejo are too brightly lit, especially those shops where ladies go to buy their bottles of scent. Hope the food was at least warm when you got it back to El Cotillo! We manged to get to Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, last month. That was quite busy too. Thanks for the video!

We were there on Thursday evening and it was very busy, young and not so young. Bars and restaurants were packed too and the Music Square was crowded too. Great buzz about the place. El Cotillo, whilst a quieter place is also busy. Fortunately they have stopped using the rock breaker which must have been a nightmare. So glad for all those who rely in us tourist's for their living.

Just when you think things can't get any worse, I see tonight, the 4th December the UK FCO have announced that from the 4 am 7th December all people aged 12 yrs and over travelling back to England from anywhere must take a PCR or LFD Covid 19 test. You must take the test in the two days before you travel to England. This will apply if whether you qualify as fully vaccinated or not. This is in addition to the PCR you must take in the in the two days when you get back which has to be booked before you get back. Of course if you test positive in the test before you leave you will not be allowed to leave. There is no information as to what you do when you are stuck in Spain. I have also just seen that SCOTLAND have the same rule and possibly Northern Ireland as well.

The clinics out here have been so helpful with the antigen/lateral flow tests following the new rules to get back to the UK. We used the one down near Nico’s bar. Less busy then the ones in town. I see the Supreme Court of Justice for the Canary Islands have authorised the Covid Certficate to control access to public and private venues to stop the rise of the corona virus in the islands. If premises implement this they will get fewer restrictions and increased capacity and hours. Is this just the thin end of the wedge and become compulsory everywhere eventually as in some other Autonomous Communities.

It seems the Spanish government are going to be discriminating against the unvaccinated from 1st December, despite the mass of evidence that, whether you are vaccinated or not, you have the same probability of catching and spreading it.
@stratman78103 жыл бұрын
Interesting that all of the patients with Covid in ICU at our hospital here in Fuerteventura are unvaccinated and overall in the Canary Islands the vast majority in ICU are unvaccinated according to official Canaries Health figures. This is probably why the Spanish Government don't want unvaccinated tourists from the UK. I can see them doing the same as some other EU countries and applying this to everyone. The Canaries Government are again trying to get Health Passports authorised to be allowed access to many venues. This has succeeded in some Spanish areas and not others. We will see.

Here is another copy and paste from New Scientist dated 23rd November 2021 a bit further down the article. A similar picture is emerging in the UK, where “covid-19 is no longer a disease of the vaccinated”, according to Andrew Pollard, director of the Oxford Vaccine Group at the University of Oxford. The “ongoing horror” of people with covid-19 fighting for breath in intensive care units in hospitals across Britain “is now largely restricted to unvaccinated people”
