Thanks JP. Not so much the 39 steps as the 3 million ! I have walked your walk a few times and it made my night watching this, ( with a dram of course ). We used to enjoy some bacon and eggs on the front at a place now closed. ( 17.47 in on your video ) There was a very nice English lady who used to work there and bring our food out. I hope she has found a new place to live and work. Glad to see you again making movie's Mr Fuerteventura .

Glad the ferry captain remembered to shut the bow doors. Always preferred the slower (and cheaper, being a Yorkshireman) sailing with the "Armas" ferry, and greater freedom to wander an open deck, to Fred Olsen's. Good to see the "Vaca Azul" (I think) doing a good trade again. It's a very pleasant walk, with so many "watering holes", that we didn't always make it to the end. Thanks for the reminder of what it's like to do so! Good to see the "Waikiki" bar open too. We usually only got there if we started the walk at that end.

Thanks JP ... I’ve walked that route many times and relived every step. Sorry to hear that Tam’s sold ‘Cordon Blue’ but on the other hand, hopefully that’s enabled her to move on to better things in her life 🤞

Hi JP, always look fwd to your vids on Fuertoventura. First time we went was way back in the late 80's, flying with Dan Air and holidaying in Calete De Fuste, must say, didn't like it. Anyway, long time later we gave Fuertoventura another try, and fell in love with Jandia and its fabulous beach. Been in a few hotels there, the last one being Maxorata a great hotel, don't know if you've tried it. Still to try Corralejo and would be interested in your opinion if you had a choice between Jandia and Corralejo. Please keep up the good work, we find it very informative and entertaining. Here's to things returning to normal, so's we can return to Fuertoventura. All the best to you, the wife and the dogs...
@JPinFuerteventura3 жыл бұрын
That is much like my story Raymond. I went to Caleta in 1987 and didn't enjoy it (there wasn't much to enjoy back then) and didn't go back to Fuerte for over 10 years. Have you watched my Caleta in 1987 video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZLPnaiDdpV0qsU Although there are great beaches down south I would prefer Corralejo as it has much more life to it. Costa Calma etc are very much geared towards huge all-inclusive hotels with relatively little outside them. We struggled to find places to eat in Costa Calma in May.

Narrowboats are definitely not easy to reverse as I have found in the past. Dogs can go on the ferries but may have to remain in the cars (but I am not entirely sure).

Are holidaymakers allowed bk in fuertaventura and what level are u on red amber or green Xx
@mylescarthy24683 жыл бұрын
Hello Elizabeth, Spain and Fuerteventura are Amber. If you are fully vaccinated you need proof of this via the NHS ap, A LETTER FROM YOUR DOCTOR OR THE CREDIT CARD THING YOU WERE GIVEN WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. You need proof of a test that you will take 3 days before you fly back, this must be a government approved test, tui offer this when you book cost of £20 each test. You also need proof of a test that you will need to take on day 2 when you return, also government approved cost from £60-80 per person. You need travel locator forms both into Spain and back to UK. This process isn't too hard to sort. Not too sure on rules from other countries but from what others are saying the rules are much more relaxed and cheaper. I'm flying back tomorrow. Hope this helps.

JP I would welcome a complete update regarding whether you are an island on level 1 2 etc and in terms of tourism what the current influx numbers are like and of course including blighty and this is across the island as a whole and finally by the same token across the island what's in reality open without constraints and what's not please. And that's if you're up for that challenge. You indicated previous you didn't know whether it was worthwhile continuing so my request is not a burden to you hopefully but more my assumption that you've changed your mind on the way forward. My challenge to you is to create scope positivity but with balance rather than optimism as clearly I'm aware of the virus levels in Spain Gran canaria and Tenerife for example! After 32 year's of visit a well balanced and broad update would be welcome as opposed to the media I've seen recently. As usual take care for both of you and regards Ian.
@JPinFuerteventura3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion Ian. While a video like that may be useful the day it is published, things change so quickly. I could post a video today and then tomorrow everything changes so the video is wrong. You cannot update a video, only removed it. That is why I keep my website up to date as I can change that daily. I don't want to give people incorrect information. Visit page here - www.jpinfuerteventura.com/categories/travel-fuerteventura-life/fuerteventura-coronavirus-situation/ The current situation is that Fuerteventura is on level 3 (ridiculous but there you go) but as the numbers are dropping quite quickly this may go down too. Not that it makes much difference frankly.
@iankwhite3 жыл бұрын
@@JPinFuerteventura JP That's understandable The points I made are relevant to tourism from the UK arriving back to the island frankly. If UK arriving expect everything to be singing or dancing open blah then that's misleading and so is the current level 4 wherever you're heading etc that's the first point and secondly f the English for example are not coming in droves then the COVID-19 issues are across the EU for the island to say it's on level 3 or 4?? Yeah??. Mass advertising campaign may exist but the truth is and the question is would a Brit get value when they assume everything is open when frankly it's not and even if it is numbers are low thus the restaurant experience is pretty isolation and so on! Apart from EU under the Schengen agreement turning up and with covid!
