Thanks for the demonstration. Ive had four sits in my new lone wolf assault and remember that almost every sit so far has had space in that back bracket. I will start doing this from now on. Thanks for the knowledge!

I'll tell you what Jason... your videos are, by far, the best instructional videos I've come across as it related to sticks. stands, and safety equipment. Thanks for putting the time in to make these videos; they are really changing my perspective in getting into a tree and I'm switching from a climber to sticks/hang on stand. Do you ever run climbers though? I'd be curious to see a video that compares climbers to sticks/hang on.
@SamkoTradBow
@SamkoTradBow 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I dont run any climbers as they dont work well in the places I hunt. Not alot of straight limbless trees. So cant help much with that comparison. Maybe one of these trips to Georgia I will borrow a climber to run for a week on thier pines and do a comparison.

Once again Jason, you are a tremendous help. Last year I got a LW Hand Climber 2 and your saftey line was a homerun. I just got an XOP Vanish this year (used only 3 times, 3 sticks, offset quick connect bracket, and one cable aider; couldn't beat the price!) with a batwing and the quick connect offset bracket. I'm not sure if you have used the bracket but I can see that you may not be able to get the platform of the stand level with the last step on the stick. You are kinda eyeballing where to put the bracket and where the platform would fall relative to the last step. Have you had any experience using the quick connect offset bracket? I'll need to experiment using that and the bat wing bracket. I did a dry run just hanging the stand at ground level. I didn't set the stand enough since the bat wing had space once I tried to set it. I realized that I didn't push down on the stand while setting it . I'll try again using your methods. I ended up trying the offset bracket and it works great but there's the issue of the last step and the platform so you are stepping onto the platfrom linearly not horizontally.

@@hollygattohunter ok I know what that is. It's like back in the day when we ran aerospace stands with a ball cable the stand hooked into. What we did then to get the platform as close to level with the last step was to use my hand and fore arm ad a gauge for the height of the bracket. Putting my elbow on the last step and the bracket a few inches above my tips of my fingers. This got us right in the ball park.

@@SamkoTradBow Ahh-ah. That's a good idea! Well, I'll try both of them and see what I like best. BTW, your audio podcast had some great tips for hanging a stand as well. I showed a friend of mine your lineman belt video. He wished he knew about you a few months ago when he bought am overpriced linemans belt. He likes your channel. Keep up putting videos and podcasts out. They are so helpful. I may decide to subscribe to your course. On the private property I hunt on, we can't figure out where they bed. Is that in the course?

Great video, I set my stand just like Jason teaches, the only thing I do different is, I use two straps. After I get my stand set, I tighten the bottom strap. I weight about 50 more pounds than Jason also😂😂. I have enjoyed my Lonewolf Assault so much.

@@SamkoTradBow yes sir the cables on each side look good strap a little color faded but looks good it’s attached so I’ll use it to hold in place then put another new strap right under it . It only weighs 6 pounds but seems still good. My brother gave it to me when I went back to Wisconsin for deer hunting. I asked him is this ok with no tip bracket he said don’t be a pssy 😱just put a ratchet strap over the two back bars . This from a 70yo who still climbs 18-20 ft stands no harness my crazy older brother
