This is not a significant point, but it might help to avoid confusion. Cantillon died in 1734, but his 'Essay' was published in 1755. Perhaps, Smith felt he could more easily plagiarize the work of a dead man!

Keen still caught up in his myopic view of the world. Still unable to explain why his MMT views are not based on conceptual failure and false assumption. Still unable to explain why he supports the MMT of taxes putting value int the money when all of the historic evidence shows the idea is false because all of the countries where inflation made the currency worthless also had taxes which did absolutely Nothing to put any value into the money. Even their own governments rejected the money and asked for payment in another country's money. Of course he cannot accept historic reality because it makes a mockery of his own false theory and displays his shallowly thought out and wrong views about the economy.

Taxes adding value to an economy is a concept that predates MMT by several decades. You can literally just search in google scholar and in 30 seconds find mountains of data showing that taxes reinvested in social spending provide much larger returns than trickle-down economics.
