Sir your videos always educate us so much. Thanks for this great initiative.I have a doubt here that solute deficit( fluid + sodium deficit) has not been calculated.How much baby has lost weight due to dehydration is not considered .It also doesn’t take ongoing losses in account. Please guide🙏🏻

Sir how the sodium requirement came to 135 meq per day in this baby.... It would have been better if all steps were calculated and shown and final fluid to be given.. Later option of calculator should have been.. We would have understood better

Free water defecit was calculated by the formula which is mentioned in the video also, 0.7*Weight *serum Na/desired Na-1 In the example, Weight is mentioned as 2 kg(dehydration/present weight ),present Na is 180,desired Na is 168 coz you dont want to reduced by more than 12 in a day ,calculate,you will get the answer in litres ,which in ml will be 100ml... As far stock solution, even I have posted the same doubt .....

Ok in the example the total fluid was 400 ml, so 135 mEq is for 1000 ml (1 liter), we need to realize rule of 3. The answer is 54 mEq that we need in 400 ml. Sorry for my english, i hope i can help you whith this answer
