Thanks for the "advanced format" HDMI setting tip, I was struggling getting 4K and HDR working at the same time and was getting frustrated! Just as an FYI while in HDR there is an additional picture settings menu that you can change to your liking as well.

I just purchased this tv and I can’t get 120 HZ on my PS5. It continually shows 60. I’m using the hdmi cable I got with my PS5 last year. Is it not HDMI 2.1. Also, which inputs are the HDMI 2.1? I believe it’s 3 & 4 right?

settings > HDMI FORMAT > Enable HDMI ENHANCED. make sure you are using a 2.1 hdmi 8k cable

Mine will only go into 120hz in game (Cold War), and remains 60hz in the PS5 UI. Also, In the TV Settings/Picture Mode/ mine list HDR modes. Example: "HDR Game" not "Game". Not sure why there's a difference.

I don’t understand what is going on I have the UG8 55” and in the PS5 video output information it doesn’t list in frequencies 120 hz and I have it hooked up to a Denon audio receiver also

Try connecting directly to the ps5 & check again. If still no 120hz, then enable enhanced hdmi. If it's still off try a new confirmed compatible cable. Good luck!

Ok so when I set the video on the TV middle 55 U8G to enhanced my PS 5 picture goes crazy It splits the picture in half horizontally making it impossible to use. I have to have the HDMI Format set to Standard.

I have the u6g with a ps4 pro when I am at the playstation menu it's nice and bright but when u start a game it gets dull and not bright

It's switching between hdr and non hdr mode. This is becoming normal with modern tvs so each input/ picture mode remembers your picture settings. All you gotta do is set the picture in tv settings before and after you see the dullness.

So weird we have the same TV with the same settings but yours looks so bright compared to mine ... my ps5 main menu and game looks darker ...

From having the U8G for 2 years, I would suggest putting local dimming on medium for overall brighter image. Also make sure your hdmi black level matches on tv vs console (set to limited or auto on both sides). Hdmi black level mismatch is a heavily overlooked setting that can give you a bad image with crushed blacks, if set incorrectly or mismatched between tv and console. You can put main contrast to 80 in hdr to help brighten image overall as well. Finally turning freesync on darkens the image way too much on this tv, I turn it off and just rely on HDMI based VRR. I’ve also noticed forcing your console to 60 fps helps the overall image (colors and brightness) and anyways most games on console go up to 60 only anyways, and this tv has the weird 120 with half resolution issue anyways (workaround of setting to text clarity mode for full rez in 120 hz kills other aspects of PQ).

@@WittyPixel I think I discovered what the actual problem is, my ps5 was plugged to the astro mixamp analog converter that only supports 120hz while on 1080p, unfortunately I could not find one that supports 4k 120hz yet, so I got pick use the full audio quality of the astro a 40s mixamp and play at 4k60hz or use 120hz but not 100% of audio quality, quite a downside for a premium headset adapter. Honestly I didn't care about 120 hz, but games like ratchet and clank you can play on fidelity mode with Ray tracing best graphics at 40fps, and that helps a lot, I hope that become a trend and we have more fidelity mode using those extra 10 fps

This was my question as well. When the PS5 turns on the signal is being recognized on the video as 120 Hz. But mine just shows 60.

Make sure the ps5 is powered on and you use the HMDI cable that came with the ps5. Then check the video settings

Man i have the u8g and a ps5 was able to set the proper settings for hdr but it looks washed out for some reason. If I disable hdr looks better. Any tip on how to fix the washed out hdr look?
