You took a good approach to this by just using an existing product and making a holder for it. So you didn't have to deal with much trouble getting it to light well. What you should have done if you wanted to really make it amazing was to have the fuel line in the wire making the finger bend and have a little butane tank on the wrist part. Then just use a small metal pipe as the nozzle to avoid the melting and with enough flow it should heat up. For looks and functionality you could also modify the metal guard of a lighter to fit around the finger. The tip would be the guard. To light it you could have a small battery hooked up to a capacitor and a switch to charge it until a spark jumps between a wire and the electrically grounded guard to light the gas. The plastic wouldn't melt and it could be a lot cooler. With a potential hazard to lose even more fingers you could potentially turn the finger into a flame thrower. It would take lots of testing and time to design tho.

For the next finger you should machine the parts out of brass or stainless steel. Brass won't rust and might be easier to make with a mold pour, steel is stronger but would definitely need machining. Something more permanent than plastic and moves the process away from the 3D printing.
